We're launching a one-off MenB vaccination programme ahead of the next academic year to protect young people from a life-threatening disease.

This will help reduce the risk of serious illness and larger outbreaks. Two doses are needed for full protection.

The vaccination will be available to:

➡️ people who complete year 13 of education in summer 2026

➡️ people under 25 starting university or moving into some further education accommodation or halls of residence for the first time in autumn 2026

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is a common virus that can cause serious lung infections and breathing problems in older adults. Vaccination helps reduce your risk of severe illness and hospitalisation.

If you have received an invitation, please book your appointment. If you think you may be eligible and have not yet been contacted, please get in touch with the practice.

Constipation can cause fatal complications if it’s not
treated promptly – and people with a learning disability
are much more likely to be at risk.

It is important that people with a learning
disability receive support from the general practice
team if they are experiencing constipation.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please make sure to contact the surgery to cancel it. This allows us to offer the slot to another patient in need.

You can easily cancel your appointment via the NHS App or call the surgery on 0161 785 7910.

We understand it can sometimes be challenging to get a routine appointment with a GP or Nurse within your preferred time frame. Demand can be unpredictable, and missed appointments make it even harder for us to manage.

🩸 Today is World Blood Cancer Day 🩸

Every year, thousands of people are diagnosed with blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Early diagnosis can make a real difference.

Please contact your GP if you experience symptoms that don’t feel normal for you, such as:
• Unexplained tiredness
• Frequent infections
• Unexplained bruising or bleeding
• Night sweats
• Unexplained weight loss
• Persistent swollen glands

Today, we stand with patients, families, carers and healthcare teams affected by blood cancer, and we help raise awareness of the importance of recognising symptoms early.
