⚠️ A quick warning about fake online pharmacies.

More and more scam websites are appearing that look almost identical to genuine UK pharmacies. They often use professional-looking logos, fake reviews, and convincing branding to trick people into ordering medicines.

Before buying medication online:
• Check the pharmacy is registered with the UK's regulatory bodies.
• Make sure there is a genuine UK address and contact details.
• Be cautious of prices that seem too good to be true.
• Never buy prescription-only medicines without a proper consultation.
• If something doesn't feel right, don't risk it.

Counterfeit medicines can be ineffective, contaminated, or even dangerous. Spending a few minutes checking a website could protect your health and your money. 💊

🚧 Travel Reminder – Please Allow Extra Time 🚧

We would like to remind patients that the current roadworks are causing delays, and this is affecting arrival times for appointments.

Please remember that, until Autumn 2026, a one-way system is in place as part of the Portishead Line restoration project. This may cause delays when travelling to the practice.

If you have an appointment with us, please allow extra time for your journey and plan ahead where possible to ensure you arrive on time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

🌿 Hay Fever Season 🌿

Hay fever can be particularly troublesome at this time of year, causing symptoms such as sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, a runny nose, and congestion.

A few simple steps may help reduce symptoms:
• Keep windows closed during periods of high pollen
• Shower and change clothes after spending time outdoors
• Wear sunglasses to help protect your eyes from pollen
• Check daily pollen forecasts and plan outdoor activities accordingly

If your symptoms are affecting your day-to-day life, speak to your local pharmacist, who can advise on suitable treatments.

We’re really pleased to share that the merger between UHBW and North Bristol NHS Trust has now been approved by NHS England, the Secretary of State, our Group Board and Council of Governors.

From Wednesday 1 July, we’ll come together as Bristol NHS Foundation Trust 💙

This brings together 28,000 colleagues across more than 160 clinical specialties, working across 13 hospital sites — creating one of the largest acute NHS trusts in the UK. This new Trust has been shaped by our patients, our communities and our clinical teams, and will help us better serve the people who rely on us now and in the future.

There will be some changes to our website and social media channels as part of this transition - you may have noticed our page name has changed already. However, our services will not be affected - please continue to attend any appointments as planned, unless you are contacted directly.

☀️ Hot Weather Health Advice ☀️

The current hot weather can affect anyone, but it can be particularly challenging for older adults, young children, and those with long-term health conditions.

High temperatures can lead to dehydration, which may cause symptoms such as dizziness, light-headedness, headaches, tiredness, and feeling faint.

To help stay well during hot weather:
• Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, even if you do not feel thirsty
• Avoid excessive alcohol and caffeine
• Stay in the shade where possible, especially during the hottest part of the day
• Wear loose, light-coloured clothing
• Keep your home cool by closing curtains and blinds during the day

If you begin to feel dizzy, light-headed, unusually tired, or unwell, move to a cooler place, rest, and drink fluids.

Please remember that staying hydrated is one of the most important things you can do during periods of hot weather.

🚧 Important Travel Update for Patients 🚧

As part of the restoration of the Portishead Line, from 22 June until Autumn 2026, a one-way system will be in place on Harbour Road, with traffic only able to travel towards the roundabout from Newfoundland Way.

These road changes may cause delays and disruption to local journeys, which could affect travel times to and from appointments.

If you have an appointment with us during this period, please allow extra time for your journey and plan ahead where possible.

We would like to sincerely apologise to all patients who attended our recent Covid vaccination clinic. We recognise that the service provided on the day fell below the standard we expect and strive to deliver.

Following a full review, we have set out a clear explanation of what occurred, including recent national changes to consent and staffing requirements, and the actions we are taking to ensure this does not happen again.

Please see the full statement below.
