September has arrived at Harnham Croft, bringing the start of autumn and plenty of opportunities for fun, laughter and making special memories together. 💗

Inside this month’s newsletter, you’ll find a look back at some of the wonderful moments we’ve shared, along with what we have planned for the month ahead — including our World First Aid Day activities and our World Alzheimer’s Day Coffee Morning💜

🐾 Today is International Dog Day 🐶❤️

We’re celebrating the wonderful joy our four-legged friends bring to Harnham Croft!

We’re lucky to regularly welcome pets and animal therapy dogs to visit our residents, bringing plenty of smiles, cuddles and happy memories 🥰

Animal visits can be a wonderful way to encourage conversation, reminiscence, companionship and social interaction, with many residents enjoying the opportunity to share stories about their own beloved pets.

A huge thank you to all the furry friends, owners and volunteers who bring so much happiness to our homes. 🐕💕

🫖✨ It’s International Afternoon Tea Week at Harnham Croft!

We have two very special afternoons planned for our residents this week:

🎩 Wednesday 12th August – We’re heading down the rabbit hole for a fabulous Mad Hatter’s Tea Party! Expect plenty of fun, laughter and of course delicious treats 🐰🍰

☕ Friday 14th August – We’ll be enjoying a wonderful tea tasting afternoon, sampling a variety of teas alongside an irresistible selection of cakes🧁

Two afternoons, plenty of tea and lots of opportunities to make lovely memories together 💕🫖

Our residents have been enjoying some well-deserved pampering, relaxation and time together. From visits to our very own hair salon to our lovely Coffee & Pamper Mornings in the lounge, it has been wonderful to see everyone enjoying moments of confidence, connection and self-care💆‍♀️☕

⚽🌍 World Cup Open Day Fun! 🌍⚽

What a fantastic day we have all enjoyed for our 2026 Care Home Open Day. 🏠 ☕️

This morning, residents got creative by decorating their own football shirts, followed by a lovely morning coffee and a delicious selection of cakes prepared by our wonderful kitchen team. ☕🧁

At lunchtime, everyone enjoyed an amazing buffet lunch enjoyed in the garden, expertly put together by our talented kitchen team. 🍽️ ☀️

The afternoon brought plenty of excitement as residents and staff took part in a friendly football match, representing Croatia 🇭🇷 vs England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. There was lots of laughter, teamwork, and competitive spirit on display!

🏆 Final Score: Croatia 11 – England 10 🏆

Congratulations to our Croatia team on their victory in a very closely contested match!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped & supported to making the day such a wonderful success. Your hard work and enthusiasm made it a memorable day for everyone. ❤️
