A huge congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Wambugu! 🌟

At Harnham Croft Care Home, we are so grateful for the dedication, compassion, and hard work shown by our incredible team every single day. Our Employee of the Month scheme is a wonderful way to recognise those who go above and beyond for our residents, relatives, and colleagues.

This month, we received six lovely nominations, and one of our residents helped us choose the winning nomination at random 💙

💙 Yesterday, residents at Harnham Croft Care Home enjoyed a wonderful Sensory & Reminiscence Afternoon as part of Dementia Action Week.

Residents explored different textures including rice, pasta, and sand, alongside familiar scents designed to encourage memories, conversation, comfort, and wellbeing ✨

The afternoon created lots of smiles, engagement, and meaningful moments, highlighting the positive impact sensory activities can have for those living with dementia Alzheimer's Society

At Harnham Croft, we are celebrating International Nurses’ Day today in a truly special way 💙

Our residents have been getting creative - making blue ribbon pins as a symbol of appreciation, and designing a wonderful collage for the nurses’ station featuring all of our amazing nurses’ names.

We’ll be showing our gratitude with thoughtful treats like flowers and chocolates to celebrate everything our nurses do.

Thank you to our dedicated team for your kindness, compassion, and unwavering care - you make such a difference every single day. 💙

This week at Harnham Croft, we’re coming together to support Mental Health Awareness Week (11th–17th May). 💚

On the 14th, our residents and team will be creating a special Wellbeing Tree - a space where everyone can share their emotions, thoughts, and messages of support. 🌿

By adding leaves filled with feelings and kind words, we’re opening up conversations and reminding each other that every emotion matters.

Because sometimes, the simplest act of sharing how we feel can make the biggest difference. 💚

🐾 National Pet Month 🐾

At our care homes, we know just how much joy, comfort, and companionship pets bring into our lives. From wagging tails to gentle purrs, animals have a special way of lifting spirits and sparking beautiful memories.

This National Pet Month, we’re celebrating all the furry (and sometimes feathery!) friends who bring smiles to our residents’ faces every day. Whether it’s visiting therapy animals or cherished pets in our residents’ own lives, the bond is truly heart-warming 💛

Here’s to the unconditional love only a pet can give 🐶🐱
