Trotman Funeral Directors

Trotman Funeral Directors An independent family funeral director and memorial mason, caring for the local community since 1933

Trotman Funeral Directors started in the winter of 1933 under the ownership of Mr. William John (Jack) Trotman and has become rooted in the village of Cranmore, near Shepton Mallet in Somerset and the surrounding community for the past four generations. We are proud to say that the business still enjoys the active involvement of family with Mr Trotman’s grandson, John Reakes caring for the communi

ty just as he did. The newest member of staff is Lee Fagan D’Oris who has many years’ experience working with the bereaved. Oswald Clarke Funeral Directors started back in 1947 under the husband and wife partnership of Oswald and Ismay Clarke and has become established in the town of Bruton and the encompassing area. In 1993, due to Oswald and Ismay taking a less active role in the running of their business, Trotman Funeral Directors were invited to take over the day to day running of the company. Under a change of ownership in 2014 we came under the Forsey and Son name, still retaining our professional and caring service within the local community. Membership of the professional organisations regulating funeral directing provides reassurance that we observe strict codes of practice in all aspects of our work. Owners Adrian Forsey and his son Samuel with their colleagues would be pleased to assist you with any matters in complete confidence. Trotman Funeral Directors is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN:965279)

🌍❤️ Sometimes family and friends cannot be there in person, but that does not mean they cannot be part of saying goodbye.

With the new Obitus facilities at The Pavilion, funeral services can now be securely live streamed, allowing loved ones to join from anywhere in the world.

Whether someone is overseas, unwell, or unable to travel, they can still share in those important moments and feel connected to family and friends.

It's just one more way we're helping families create meaningful and inclusive farewells at The Pavilion in Glastonbury.

A caring conversation today can mean so much tomorrow.

A simple funeral, or even an unattended direct cremation, can still include a gathering where family and friends are able to come together to grieve, share memories, and celebrate a life lived.

We are proud to offer the use of our on-site service venue, The Pavilion, providing a warm and intimate setting for gatherings arranged around your wishes.

Giving those you love a space to come together, reflect, and remember can bring great comfort at a difficult time.

Sometimes the stories can make us smile through the sadness, celebrating the life that was lived as much as the one that was lost.

Let's help you celebrate that story.

Conversations about funeral wishes are often difficult to begin, but they can mean so much to the people who are left to navigate loss afterwards.

In SAIF's latest lived experience, Ed Cullen explores how involving family, honouring personal wishes and creating a farewell with real meaning can bring comfort at an emotional time.

A very interesting story of a family's experience with a national direct cremation provider.

Not every funeral has to be attended and elaborate, but you should have choices made available to you.

It certainly should not be transactional.

Speak to us today to discuss all of the wide options available to you.

As your local SAIF independent funeral directors, we don’t believe in "one size fits all."

We’re part of your community, and we take the time to listen to your stories as neighbours to create a farewell that feels personal, supported and true to your story.
