We all face difficult times, but knowing when to speak, whom to trust, or how to respond when someone confides in us isn't always easy.

Sometimes the first step towards finding a way forward isn't having all the answers. It's simply opening the door and allowing someone to listen.

Of all the emotions we experience, guilt may be among the least understood. We can feel it for years without questioning where it comes from, or whether its accusations are fair. Sometimes it points us towards something we need to put right; sometimes it grows from expectations we have absorbed or responsibilities that were never ours to carry. Perhaps the challenge is not simply to stop feeling guilty, but to learn how to listen to guilt without automatically believing everything it tells us.
