Our Ron has been hard at work in the Boston Active Gym with Personal Trainer Freddy 💪

Freddy has been so impressed with Ron's progress that he thought it was about time for him to take on the Neuro Balance Ball Challenge. The challenge is designed to improve coordination, balance, focus and confidence, and over time can help reduce the risk of falls and support independence.

It's safe to say Ron was more than up to the challenge, and we're amazed by his coordination skills 🤩

Our Home Manager, Kim, and Deputy Manager, Jade, joined other Managers from across the Millennium Care Group recently for a Good Governance and Innovation Workshop.

The workshop was a great opportunity to hear from Standish Care Village Personal Trainer, Freddy, on the benefits he's witnessed as a result of his sessions with residents. There was also a session run by the Group's Mock Inspector, offering an insight into CQC's inspection techniques and new regulations 🧐

We're looking forward to seeing how Kim and Jade use the knowledge and insights gained from the day to further develop the home and continue enhancing the experience of residents 🥰

What a lovely day we had today, welcoming our friends from Lavender Hills, our sister home, for lunch and wonderful entertainment from the amazing The Tenor Ladies. We were also delighted to invite another of our sister homes, Worthington Lake, to join us and enjoy the entertainment 🎤🎶💃

Everyone had a fantastic time, and to make the day even sweeter, we enjoyed delicious doughnuts after lunch in celebration of National Doughnut Day 🍩

Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special and enjoyable afternoon! 💕😊

We loved welcoming Lakeside and Worthington Lake last week for a Standish Care Village barbecue 🥰

Our incredible team of chefs put on a delicious spread of salads and side dishes to go alongside our burgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken 😋

Residents enjoyed mingling with the other homes and taking in the sunshine in the garden ☀️

Last week was full of activities and smiles, some of the residents got stuck into polishing up a classic dollshouse, meanwhile we had a music discovery session introducing the residents to modern music whilst singing and dancing to some classics 🎶

Then later in the week, we had our very own Standish Care Village BBQ, where residents got together from all three homes Lakeside Worthington Lake. Our chefs cooked up an amazing feast with a variety of meats, veg and fruits to get into the summer mood. Lastly, we all got up families, staff and residents to have a dance and a sing-along in the sunshine ☀️

To end the week, we went to St Paul’s Church to enjoy a Music in Mind session where residents and the public integrated through music, playing instruments, listening to the different sounds and creating ones of our own 🎶

What a wonderful week we’ve had here at Langtree! 🌞

Our gentlemen enjoyed a fantastic Men’s Day Out to Hollywood Bowl Wigan where there were plenty of smiles, laughs and a little friendly competition! Afterwards, everyone headed to The Brocket Arms for a lovely lunch in the sunshine. Ron won the bowling, and everyone had a great day out ☀️🍻🎳🥇

We also celebrated Celia’s birthday surrounded by her niece and her Langtree family. She enjoyed a beautiful birthday cake specially made by our wonderful kitchen staff — thank you for helping make her day so special 🎂

It’s been another busy, happy week here at Langtree, and now the sunshine has arrived, we’re looking forward to spending lots more time out in the garden enjoying the warmer days ahead 🚌

Yesterday we held our own little Eurovision party here at Langtree! 🇪🇺✨

Sharon and Sabrina dressed up as ABBA and enjoyed a dance and sing-along with our lovely residents — there were lots of smiles, laughter and plenty of fabulous moves! 💃🎶

Rise joined us for some great seated games, which always bring out our residents' competitive sides 🏐🎾

This morning we all came together as a team to make some delicious homemade shortbread biscuits, which went down a treat 🍪

Then, in the afternoon, some of our residents enjoyed some lovely one-to-one time filled with reminiscing, relaxing facials, and a good old chin wag with friends over a nice brew and the biscuits we made this morning ❤️

Today, we started the day off with a bit of baking, where Sabrina and Chris both led a team to see who could make the best treat 🍪

Staff and residents were very keen to judge, with everybody concluding it was a draw.

In the afternoon, we all went across the road to Worthington Lake to enjoy an Elvis impersonator with Langtree’s very own Chris taking to the stage and giving a performance of his own 🎤

It’s safe to say we’ve absolutely stuffed our faces and ended the day with fantastic music, lots of smiles, laughs and a bit of competition 🥰
