🌞 What a fabulous day we had on Sunday at our very first Langtree Summer Fair! 🌞

From the laughter on the bouncy castle (which was just as popular with some of our staff as it was with the children! 🤭) to seeing so many friendly faces, it was a truly wonderful day.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported us, donated, volunteered, and helped make the day such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you ❤️

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that together we raised an incredible £576! Every penny will go towards creating more special memories for our wonderful residents, starting with a much-anticipated day trip to the seaside! 🎉🏖️

Thank you again for making our first Summer Fair so memorable. We can’t wait to do it all again next year! ☀️💙

With many of the FIFA World Cup matches taking place later in the evening, lots of our residents have been catching up on the games the following day 📺

But this week's 5pm fixture between Argentina and Egypt gave us the perfect opportunity to come together for a live watch party 🎉

We got into the spirit with match-day tickets and flags, with many of us choosing to cheer on our wonderful Care Assistant, Cass's home nation, Egypt 🇪🇬

The dramatic match definitely had some of us on the edge of our seats, but it was a fantastic opportunity to experience the highs and lows of the game together ⚽

It’s safe to say the heat and sunshine haven’t stopped us from keeping fit so far this week, as we had our sports session with Rise ⚽️

We have started the week off with setting up for our summer fair, which will be open to residents, families and the public on Sunday 12th July, starting at 1pm and finishing up around 4pm. We hope to see everybody there 🎡

Then we all had some tea and sat down to watch the enthralling match between Argentina and Egypt, with the scores ending 3-2 to Argentina 🇦🇷

Lastly, we had fun activities in the warmth of our garden with music and board games involved, but some of our residents wanted a bit more, so we got our shoes on and headed down to Worthington Lakes to enjoy the lovely views. We even managed to escape from the flock of geese just in time 🪿

Join us on Sunday, 12th July, for our very first Summer Fair! 🤩☀️

There'll be plenty of fun for everyone to enjoy, including stalls, face painting, a tombola, delicious food, and lots of sweet treats! 🍰🎨

Entry is free, but please note that the stalls and tombola will be cash only, with all proceeds going to our Residents' Fund 🎟️

We're also looking for tombola donations! If you have any unwanted gifts, such as candles, bath sets, chocolates, or other treats, we'd be so grateful if you could drop them off at reception on your next visit.

We can't wait to see you there for a fantastic day of fun, food, and community 💚

This weekend we celebrated our lovely Mary’s 90th birthday! 🎉🎂

Mary asked us to keep things low-key, but we still wanted to make sure her special milestone was celebrated with her friends here at Langtree. We enjoyed a delicious birthday cake made by our wonderful kitchen team, accompanied by some beautiful classical music and the company of our fellow residents.

As Mary is a huge lover of all things classical, we reached out to Manchester Camerata, who kindly recorded a special birthday message just for her. It truly made her day even more memorable, and Mary would like to send her heartfelt thanks to everyone at Manchester Camerata for helping make her 90th birthday that little bit more special.

Happy 90th Birthday, Mary! ❤️

What a busy and enjoyable week we’ve had! Where do we begin? ✨

We started the week with a few games of dominoes and some baking. Our residents enjoyed making some delicious melting moments, which went down a treat 😋

We were also delighted to welcome Rise Seated Sports, who hosted a fantastic session of friendly competition and games. There was plenty of laughter, teamwork, and fun throughout the afternoon 🏆

Our residents have been busy little bees preparing for our upcoming Summer Fair, creating beautiful handmade cards, putting together lucky dip prizes, and making colourful sweet cones. Everyone has worked so hard, and we’re looking forward to sharing their creations 🍬

Today, we enjoyed a wonderful trip to Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, a visit specially requested by Marjorie. We took along a lovely picnic prepared by our talented chefs and enjoyed lunch on the university grounds. Everyone commented on how stunning the cathedral is inside, and the visit sparked many conversations as residents shared memories and reminisced about previous trips. Some also took the opportunity to enjoy a quiet moment of reflection and light a candle 🕯️

It has been a week full of friendship, creativity, activity, and wonderful memories, and we look forward to seeing what next week brings! 😊

Last weekend, Ron and Tom headed to The CorpAcq Stadium with Lifestyle & Enrichment Coordinator Chris to watch Salford RLFC's game against Doncaster Rugby League 🏉

It was a trip down memory lane for Tom, who was a regular at Salford games in the 1960s, and a great opportunity for a men's day out.

Whilst the score may not have been what they were hoping for, it certainly didn't stop them from enjoying the day 🥰
