September is going to look a little different around here. ๐Ÿ’š

Mental health is a huge subject โ€” but the reasons people reach out for support are often deeply personal.

Maybe your mind never seems to switch off.

Maybe something from your past is still affecting your relationships today.

Maybe alcohol has slowly become the way you cope after a difficult day.

Maybe you're grieving, struggling with anger, feeling overwhelmed, or simply tired of telling everyone, โ€œI'm fine.โ€

You don't need to know the right diagnosis.

You don't need to wait until things become unbearable.

And you don't need to know exactly what to say.

Sometimes the first step is simply being able to say:

**โ€œSomething doesn't feel right, and I'd like to talk about it.โ€**

At Turning Minds Around, we're here to listen without judgement and help you explore what support might look like for you.

Going to work. Looking after your family. Answering messages. Getting through your to-do list.

From the outside, everything might look fine.

But coping doesn't always mean you're okay.

Sometimes we're so focused on keeping everything going that we don't notice how emotionally exhausted, anxious or overwhelmed we've become.

You don't have to wait until you can't cope anymore before reaching out.

Counselling can give you a confidential, non-judgemental space to put yourself first, talk about what's been weighing on you and explore what you need moving forward.

At Turning Minds Around, we're here to listen.

๐Ÿ’™ You deserve support even on the days you're managing to hold everything together.

โ€œIโ€™m fine.โ€ Two little words that can hide a lot. ๐Ÿ’™

Sometimes talking about how we really feel can be difficult.

We might worry about being a burden. We might think others have bigger problems. Or perhaps we've become so used to pushing through that we don't realise how much we're carrying.

But emotions don't disappear simply because we ignore them.

Making space to talk can help us understand what we're feeling, recognise what we need, and begin to work through the things that have been weighing us down.

At Turning Minds Around, you don't need to arrive with the right words or know exactly where to begin.

You can simply begin with how you're feeling today.

๐Ÿ’™ You don't have to pretend you're fine. We're here to listen.

Sometimes we find ourselves repeating the same reactions, behaviours or patterns without fully understanding why.

Breaking the cycle isn't about blame or judgement. It's about becoming curious about what's underneath our responses, understanding where those patterns may have come from, and learning that a different way forward is possible.

At Turning Minds Around, we believe awareness can be a powerful starting point for change.

You can't always change what has happened, but with the right support, you can begin to change what happens next.

๐Ÿ’™ Recognise. Understand. Change.

Stress is a normal part of life, but when it feels constant, it can begin to affect more than just your mood.

You might notice you're struggling to sleep, becoming easily irritated, constantly overthinking, feeling exhausted, or finding it difficult to switch offโ€”even when you finally have time to rest.

Sometimes, your mind and body are simply telling you that you've been carrying too much for too long.

Counselling can give you a safe space to understand what's behind your stress, recognise your triggers and develop healthier ways to cope with life's pressures.

At Turning Minds Around, you don't need to wait until you're at breaking point to reach out.

๐Ÿ’™ If things have been feeling like "too much" lately, support is here.

A gentle reminder before a new week begins... ๐ŸŒฟ

You don't have to spend Sunday worrying about everything Monday might bring.

Today, give yourself permission to slow down.

Rest if you're tired. Step away from your phone. Spend time with someone who makes you feel safe. Get outside. Do something simply because you enjoy it.

And if you've been telling yourself, "I'll deal with how I'm feeling eventually," perhaps this week can be the week you take that first step.

You don't have to solve everything at once.

๐Ÿ’™ One conversation. One decision. One small step at a time.

Turning Minds Around is here when you're ready.

Mental health support should feel within reach. ๐Ÿ’™

Turning Minds Around was built around a simple belief: people in our community deserve somewhere they can turn when life becomes difficult.

We're proud to be part of the Wakefield community and to provide a space where people can feel listened to, respected and supported.

Whatever brings someone through our doors, they're a person firstโ€”not a diagnosis or a problem to solve.

That's the kind of mental health support we believe in.

๐Ÿ’™ Local support. Real conversations. A community that cares.

Before you head into the weekend, take 30 seconds to check in with yourself. ๐Ÿ’™

How are you really feeling?

Not how you've told your colleagues you are.
Not the automatic "I'm fine."
Not how you think you should feel.

How are you?

Sometimes we're so busy getting through our week that we don't notice how much we're carrying.

Take a moment today to notice what you need. Maybe it's rest. Maybe it's time outside. Maybe it's connection. Or maybe it's finally talking about something you've been carrying alone.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Drop a ๐Ÿ’™ below if you're making time for yourself this weekend.

Trauma doesn't always stay in the past.

Difficult experiences can continue to influence our emotions, relationships and reactions long after the event itself.

You may find yourself constantly on alert, avoiding certain situations, struggling to trust, feeling disconnected or experiencing emotions that seem difficult to control.

Trauma-informed therapy can provide a safe space to explore these experiences at a pace that feels manageable for you.

The aim isn't to force you to relive the past. It's to help you understand its impact and work towards greater safety, confidence and control in the present.

๐Ÿ’™ You are more than what happened to you.

Sometimes the hardest part of therapy is knowing where to begin.

You might have thoughts you can't quite explain, emotions you don't understand, or simply know that something doesn't feel right.

That's okay.

You don't need to arrive at therapy with a perfectly organised story or a list of everything you want to work through.

You can simply begin where you are.

๐Ÿ’™ Our therapists are here to listen, understand and help you take things one step at a time.
