On Friday we had the privilege of helping a family say goodbye to their loved one. The exit theme was "Dancing queen" by ABBA and the ladies in the aisle were certainly dancing queens.

Thank you to the family for their permission to share this wonderful moment and thank you Woollensbrook Cemetery & Crematorium for the use of their disco lights.

The September chapter has drawn to a close, we reflect on the families we proudly serve.
When we are checking the grave prior to the funeral, reuniting loved ones or simply placing a grave marker we get blessed with some truly wonderful views.

We don't just serve the community with funeral related tasks. On Monday the 5th of October at Powell Funeral Service, Ware. We are hosting a Macmillan coffee morning.

If you are free then come and meet the team, have tea or coffee with a lovely slice of cake.

The world comes to a respectful pause when a funeral cortege passes through a town. This is especially true when the hearse is a traditional carriage led by a pair of Friesian horses. The sound of their hooves upon the modern roads can send us back to perhaps a simpler time but the effect remains the same. We pause, we marvel and we admire.

We also respect that loved one's final journey and start to reflect on our own personal journey.
It is very easy in this busy world to lose touch with those we hold dear and in that serene moment realise that we should all make more of an effort to catch up with friends and family you haven't seen in a while. Perhaps have a cup of tea (with a pack of their favourite biscuits!)
