A major NHS and Cancer Research UK-backed study, supported by Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is now recruiting volunteers in Wigan to help improve care and treatment for people living with these symptoms.

✅ Men aged 55–79
✅ Women aged 65–79
✅ Have regular heartburn, acid reflux, indigestion, or take medication for these symptoms

It only takes a few minutes to sign up and you'll be contributing to important research that could improve lives and help detect serious conditions earlier.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our Coffee Morning today and for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback regarding our new Accurx patient triage system. We were pleased to have representation from our management team, members of our Patient Participation Group (PPG), and our patients who all contributed to the discussion. Ensuring that our systems and services are patient friendly remains a key priority for the practice, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us continue to improve the way we deliver care. Measles is very contagious, so even a small decline in vaccine uptake can lead to a rise in cases. Vaccination rates are the lowest they have been in a decade, which is giving measles a chance to get a foothold in our communities, especially among young children.

👩‍⚕️🩺Yesterday our lovely GP Partner Dr Leigh had wonderful time visiting a local preschool to talk to the children about what it's like to be a Doctor.

The children enjoyed seeing some of the equipment used in the surgery, learning what doctors do, and asking lots of fantastic questions!

Dr Leigh explained how tools such as stethoscopes help doctors look after people and reassured the children that visiting the doctor is nothing to be afraid of.

Building confidence from a young age can help make healthcare experiences more positive, and it was lovely to see so much curiosity and enthusiasm from the children 👪
