Today is Age Without Limits Day, a national moment from Age Without Limits to challenge ageism and celebrate the strengths, stories and ambitions of older adults.
At Castle View, we see every day that there is no “right” way to be 60, 70, 80 or 90. Our homeowners are travelling, volunteering, learning new skills and making new friends.
For families, it is also a reminder that ageism can quietly creep into how we talk about our parents, assuming they “can’t” or “shouldn’t” do certain things because of a number. We regularly meet adult children who are amazed by how much confidence and energy their parents regain once they are somewhere safe, social and properly supported.
For us, “reclaiming your freedom” in retirement means having a spacious, secure home, support you can dial up when you choose, and the confidence to live life entirely on your own terms.
Instead of moving straight from a family home to full-time care, many of our homeowners have found a powerful middle ground at Castle View: their own front door, a friendly community and help with the things that have become more of a strain than a pleasure.
