It sucks, I know 😅

The reality of working with shorter more petite women who have fat loss goals can sometimes mean giving the hard truth.

But, there are always a few things worth considering:

1. Yes calories may need to be low, but there are always strategies that make your life that little bit easier. Calorie cycling and Refeeds to name a couple.

2. Are you spending enough time building as opposed to dieting?

3. Can you increase your output in terms of steps and training any further to lessen the blow?

But those things aside, yeah, it’s likely going to suck 😬

Want to see what sort of strategies I use with my more petite female clients? Comment the words “SHORT ASS” and I’ll send it over 😊

“You’re a bloke, you’ll never get it”

I think my track record for results speaks for itself, so I’ll let that do the talking.

But if you think it’s different for me, just because I’m a man. You’d be surprised just how similar it can be.

I’ll never be a woman and feel what it’s like. I can’t change that.

But what I can do is show up for myself with a standard I expect from every client, irrelevant of gender.

And I’m sure you’ll agree, it shows in my results.

“I’d never pay for help when I know what to do” 🙃

You think this is just someone telling you to eat your protein?

The simple reason most women never achieve this level of result is because they’re problem unaware.

They eat protein, they train and they know their way around a deficit. Job done.

Do you think any of the women who achieved these incredible results with me didn’t ALREADY know the basics?

So what changed for them, that hasn’t clicked for you?

Of course we tweaked things, we dialled in the training and nutrition, we levelled up their approach to be more optimum, but that wasn’t the difference-maker.

What made the difference?

They were held accountable in every action they took.

See, you don’t achieve these results with a half hearted approach and if you want to arse about, be realistic about what’s possible for you to achieve. There’s no shame in that, own it.

But if you want to stop going around in circles and “trying” over and over. You’ll need to be held accountable to what you said you would do.

It’s easy to let things slide, to loosen up, to justify your decisions and play them off as insignificant or “it doesn’t matter that much”.

But when you’re starting over again, beating yourself up again and questioning why you never make it over the line.

That’s why.

You’ve developed a track record of “kind of” sticking to things. You’ve let yourself off the hook one too many times.

Do we educate? Yes.
Do we strategise? Yes.
Do we optimise? Yes.

But these results typically come down to holding you accountable to what you said you would do.

So when you say you won’t pay for someone to hold your hand because “you know what to do”.

Would you pay for a magic pill to get you the physique you’ve chased your whole life?

What if that (hard to swallow) pill, was a big dose of accountability?

Want holding to account?

Comment or DM the word accountability, let’s not mess about.

Should you train for aesthetics? 🙃

17 years ago when I entered this industry, ‘toxic skinny’ was in fashion.

The industry has swung.

But maybe too far?

It’s almost frowned upon to say you want to train to look and feel amazing in your own skin.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t train for health or for performance.

But I’m also saying that if training to feel radiant as you enter a room and confidence that transforms you…

That’s valid. Very valid.

Should you go about it the right way? Lift weights, fuel yourself… absolutely.

Body positivity starts with personal responsibility 👇🏼

How did we get to this point where training to look and feel amazing in your own skin became toxic and frowned upon?

Women have come to me for help recently, almost apologetic about their goals.

“I know I shouldn’t care, but I just want to look like I train”

“I know it’s about more than how I look, but I can’t bare what I see in the mirror”

If you want to look like a bad ass who lifts weights and feel like a million dollars when you get your kit off then… Let’s. Fu***ng. Go.

Stop apologising for holding yourself responsible for doing something about it and taking back control.

Stop apologising for wanting to change how your body looks instead of shouting affirmations in the mirror trying to manifest confidence.

I’m not saying it’s ALL about how you look and vanity.

Women especially can be super critical about their bodies and absolutely should love themselves first, what amazing things their body is capable of .

But. I would die on this hill.

Taking personal responsibility for improving your confidence aesthetically WHILST loving yourself for who you are and what you can do is where it’s really at.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t train to look unreal. If that’s what you really care about.

My advice would be the pair it with improving what your body can do as well.

Meet Zoe ✨

I still remember our first conversation clearly — not because of what she WASN’T doing, but because of how much she WAS doing.

Zoe was doing literally, everything. And I mean everything.

She had her blood work tested. She was following a personalised nutrition plan based around the results. She was training consistently. Tracking. The lot.

Her attention to detail was actually pretty elite but the results didn’t reflect it. No wonder she felt a little miffed by it all.

It certainly wasn’t a lack of effort.

Zoe was passionate about health, training, and nutrition. So naturally, she was drawn to different methods and protocols and went all in on them all.

The problem? It was all too scattered.

She was following a lot of good ideas, but not one clear direction. She was doing more than most, but not what she specifically needed.

So we stripped it all back.

We simplified and we built a strategy that guaranteed her the lean, toned physique she wanted. But it also worked for her, as she needed to train from home.

We stopped chasing complexity and aligned everything towards the outcome she really wanted.

And as soon as we aligned her effort with an actual system?

Her body changed. Her energy changed. Her confidence changed.

It’s likely not a lack of effort for you either. It’s more likely a lack of clarity and direction towards the specific outcome you want.

Feel like you need some clarity in your direction like Zoe? DM the word “ZOE” and I’ll talk you through how it’s done 🫡

An important note if you want abs…

If you want to grow your biceps, you pick up weights, flex them and extend them.

If you want to grow your triceps, you hold weights, flex them and extend them.

You guessed it…

If you want to develop your abs to make them stronger or more visible post fat loss. You’re going to need to load them, flex them and extend them.

It really is that simple 🤷🏻‍♂️

Train and like you train glutes and you’ll be grand 🫡
