SPRING COVID BOOSTER VACCINE

The protection from previous doses or a COVID-19 infection may weaken over time. Booster doses help boost your antibodies and give you good protection from becoming seriously ill or needing to go to hospital if you get COVID-19.

Who can get a Booster
You will be offered a booster dose from April 2026 if you are:

age 80 years or older
age 18 years and older living in a long term care facility for older adults
age 18 years with a condition that puts you at high risk of serious illness from COVID-19

How long to wait
You have to leave some time between your booster and your last COVID-19 vaccine or COVID-19 infection.

If you are eligible for a Spring booster vaccine, you should wait at least 3 months since your last COVID-19 vaccination or COVID-19 infection before getting it.

Anyone aged over 18 years who is not in any of the groups listed above, can get a COVID-19 vaccine (once per year), and if eligible can get a vaccine in the spring 2026 campaign if they choose to, following discussion with a healthcare provider.

Our practice is providing extra Respiratory and Acute Clinics over the winter period. These clinics take place outside our normal surgery hours and are for patients with new or worsening respiratory symptoms including: coughs, colds, fevers and flu symptoms.

Clinic times for next week:

Monday. Feb 9th from 5pm to 6pm
Thursday Feb 12th from 5pm to 6pm
Clinics are pre - booked by phoning reception on 052 7441364.
