According to the Central Statistics Office (CSO), 36,284 new homes were completed in Ireland in 2025, a 20.4% increase on the previous year. More than 57% of these homes were built in Dublin and the Mid-East region, showing just how much construction activity is centred around the capital.

Large regeneration projects are also starting to move forward. One example is the Southwest Gate development on the Naas Road, which includes plans for over 1,100 apartments as part of the wider City Edge regeneration project.

Here’s what you need to know:
