🎯Chronic hepatitis is a serious, long‑term liver damage and is a major cause of liver cancer worldwide. For World Hepatitis Day 2026, the theme “Hepatitis: Let’s break it down” highlights the need to remove barriers that stop people from accessing the screening and care that could protect their health.

💙Viral hepatitis continues to be one of the world’s most preventable causes of illness and death. As part of your regular health check, it’s a good idea to make sure your liver health is up to date.

💙 Men’s Health Week is a great chance to pause and check in on the habits that keep you well — not just this week, but all year round. Small, consistent steps can make a big difference to how you feel day‑to‑day.

💬 The Men’s Health Survey is a quick way to get a snapshot of your current routines, but it’s not a substitute for a doctor’s visit or a proper health check‑in.

🩺 Take the survey here and make a regular checkup with your doctor:

💜 Older people in our community deserve to feel safe, valued, and heard. Elder abuse isn’t always obvious. It can look like being ignored, pressured, isolated, or financially taken advantage of.

It can happen in any living situation, and often involves people an older person trusts, including family, friends, neighbours, or those offering support services.

🌼 Because of stigma or fear, elder abuse often goes unspoken. If something feels off, or if you see something that doesn’t sit right, taking that first step can make all the difference. Support is available, and no one has to navigate this alone.

đź”—This World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, take a minute to learn more about elder abuse and how to reach out for support:

💚 This June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month and we're helping encourage New Zealanders to get to the bottom of it – know the symptoms of bowel cancer, start conversations that could save lives, and take action earlier. Statistics shows bowel cancer is curable in over 90% of cases when it’s found early. Now is a good reminder to check in with yourself and start those important conversations.

💬 If something feels off, don’t wait. A quick 2‑minute symptom checker can help you understand what to look out for and get you ready for your doctor’s appointment.

🩺 The National Bowel Screening Programme is also available for eligible men and women aged 58 to 74, offering free screening to help catch bowel cancer early.

🎯Did you know our bones naturally lose strength as we age? When bone density drops too much, it can lead to osteoporosis — a condition more common in women over 50 and men over 75.

❗️Some bone loss is expected with age, but factors like low vitamin D, being less active, hormone changes, and certain health conditions can increase the risk.

💙Treatment varies from person to person and is guided by bone‑density scans, age, medical history, and how advanced the condition is. One of the most helpful steps is looking after your bone health early and consistently, and speaking with your doctor if you have concerns.
