Today we wrapped up our final Rapuara Ako event for the year! 🎉

It was an inspiring and insightful day exploring alternative education pathways and the many opportunities available for our taiohi.

A huge mihi to Haki Keogh, Rangimokai Knuckey and Jemma Bridge for sharing your haerenga and experiences with our taiohi!!

🎓 Hands-On at Otago is a week-long summer programme for Year 12 and 13 students to experience university life and explore future study options.

You'll get the chance to explore Dunedin, check out halls of residence, and connect with other taiohi from around Aotearoa who are planning their next steps after school.

💰 The cost for Hands-On at Otago 2027 is NZ$725, which covers:

Accommodation
Meals
Programme activities
Course materials
Transport to and from Dunedin Airport or bus terminals
There are also financial assistance opportunities available to help with costs.

⏰ Applications close Thursday 6 August.

📢 Newsletter Issue 32 is here!

What an incredible quarter it has been for our kaupapa. We've loved seeing our taiohi thrive, connect, and take meaningful steps towards their future aspirations.

Some highlights include: 52 Why Ora taiohi successfully completing Mātaki Shadowing experiences. 56 taiohi participating in our Rapuara Hauora Workshop 2 through Tui Ora.

This issue also welcomes Aaron Win, our new IT Cadet. With a background in Computer Science and Design Innovation, Aaron is beginning his journey with Why Ora as he explores career and development opportunities within the technology sector.
