Our team have been busy winter planting around the Village 🌱

One of the things residents and visitors love most about Matua Village is the beautiful park-like setting. From colourful seasonal gardens to established trees, peaceful surroundings and beautifully maintained green spaces, it all helps create a calm and welcoming environment to call home.

These gardens don’t just look great, they’re part of everyday life at the village, creating spaces for residents to walk, relax, connect and enjoy the outdoors year-round.

We've carefully crafted a schedule with something for everyone this month.

🍽️ Our Big Day Out for June takes us to lunch with a view at Tauranga Club on the 2nd June
📚 The Mobile Library is also back on the 2nd, 16th and 30th June
🎤 Our guest speaker on the 5th June is Logan Bryar from Darling Memoirs, a heartfelt presentation on the power of preserving your life story in your own voice
🧵 We're off to check out the new Spotlight store on the 15th June
🗣️ Our Residents Forum is on Monday 22nd June at 1pm
💼 The Matua Village AGM is on Wednesday 24th June at 10.30am
🍾 It's Happy Hour on the 24th June @ 4pm! Cheers!

We've also got weekly shopping outings, exercise classes, bowls, games hour and our weekly 'Laugh a Minute' social group too!

Our team are as much a part of the family as our residents. It's how we maintain such a close-knit, friendly and caring environment.

Christina may be new to Matua Village, but she has already become a wonderful part of village life 💛

As our new Activities Coordinator, Christina has brought so much positive energy, warmth, and enthusiasm with her. She absolutely loves what she does and genuinely enjoys getting to know our residents and being part of the community.

Behind the scenes, she has been working incredibly hard getting up to speed with everything involved in the role, always with a smile and a can-do attitude. Her passion for creating connection and bringing joy to others shines through in everything she does.

A fun fact about Christina... she’s also a very talented singer 🎶 She’ll be sharing her voice with our neighbours over at Radius next Thursday, 28th May.

We’re so happy to have Christina as part of the Matua Village team 💐

MEET THE MATUA VILLAGE FAMILY

Our team are as much a part of the family as our residents. It's how we maintain such a close-knit, friendly and caring environment.

If you’ve been on one of our village outings, chances are you’ve already met Leah, our Resident Transport Assistant. She’s the calm, steady presence getting everyone where they need to go safely… and always with a smile and sometimes a little cheeky!

Leah brings such a lovely energy to our trips... patient, kind, and always up for a chat and a laugh. Whether it’s a quick run to the supermarket or a longer outing, she makes sure everyone feels comfortable and looked after along the way. You’ll often hear a bit of laughter on the bus when Leah’s around, she has a way of making people feel at ease and included.

We’re so lucky to have her as part of our team 💛
