Singapore’s new Online Safety Commission has released its first figures, and doxxing (having your personal details exposed online to cause harm) is now the most reported online harm, at 44% of eligible cases. Victims ranged from 7 to 68 years old, and nearly 1 in 5 cases involved someone aged 18 or below.
We’re proud that our Senior Counselling Psychologist, Ms June Tang, serves on the six-member Online Safety Appeal Panel. The panel independently reviews appeals against the Commission’s decisions. June brings over 18 years of trauma-informed, attachment-focused practice to a panel that also spans law, psychiatry and digital policy.
Why does this matter psychologically? Doxxing erases the line between online and offline. Victims often describe feeling watched, blaming themselves, and pulling away from the people and spaces that once felt safe. Research consistently links online victimisation with anxiety and depression, especially in young people.
