What does home mean to you?

For many of our patients, getting home is the goal they work towards every day. For Mr Mohamda, it means breathing easier, moving freely and seeing the people he loves.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, he received a CPAP machine and a mobility scooter. Today he manages at home, meeting family and friends.

Today is no ordinary day.

We celebrate International Nurses Day on 12 May, a date intentionally chosen to honour the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the woman who laid the very foundation of modern nursing. Over 150 years later, her spirit of service, excellence and advocacy lives on in every nurse who chooses this profession.

We are proud to mark this meaningful day with the official launch of THRIVE, a leadership book for nurses that TTSH Community Fund helped bring to life by raising funds for its production. This book was born out of a shared belief that nurses deserve not just applause, but real, tangible support.

We also had the honour of witnessing the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Singapore Nurses Association (SNA) and the Centre for Asian Nursing Studies (CANS), formalising a strategic partnership rooted in the theme of thriving. It reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that nurses do not just survive the demands of the profession. They thrive in it.

To every nurse reading this, Happy International Nurses Day! You are the backbone of healthcare, and today we celebrate you.
