Meet the KRHC ENT Team! 💚

👉Dr. Jalukar is a highly experienced Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist who has been providing both clinic and surgical care at KRHC for 25 years, treating patients of all ages.

He was drawn to the field of otolaryngology because of his fascination with the complex anatomy, physiology and pathology of the head and neck region, as well as his passion for surgery. He enjoys identifying a problem, developing a treatment plan and carrying out that plan to improve his patients' health and quality of life. Known for his patient and diligent approach, Dr. Jalukar takes the time to understand each patient's concerns and the underlying causes of their symptoms. Dr. Jalukar earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed both his residency and fellowship training at the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

👉Courtney Mielke, CMA, has been a valued member of the KRHC team for 10 years, serving in a variety of roles throughout the clinic and gaining extensive experience in patient care and clinical operations. Since 2023, she has worked alongside Dr. Jalukar, providing compassionate, efficient support to patients and helping ensure a seamless care experience. Courtney's broad knowledge of the clinic and her established working relationship with Dr. Jalukar make them the ultimate duo, combining expertise, teamwork, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional care to patients of all ages! 💚

Know the Warning Signs 💜💙

Suicidal thoughts are not always visible, but there are warning signs that may indicate someone is struggling.

⚠️ Common warning signs can include:
• Talking about feeling hopeless or trapped
• Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities they once enjoyed
• Significant changes in mood, sleep, or behavior
• Increased use of alcohol or drugs
• Giving away belongings or saying goodbye
• Expressing feelings of being a burden to others
• Talking about wanting to die or not wanting to be here

Remember: You don't need to have all the answers to help someone. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is start a conversation, listen without judgment, and encourage them to seek support.

We had a BLAST at the KRHC Family Fair last night!! We love bringing this event to life to celebrate the people who make KRHC such a special place to work and receive care! 🎪

From delicious food and sweet treats to face painting, farm animals, and bounce houses the night was filled with so much FUN! We love having the opportunity to recognize our amazing staff and the families who support them. 🍨🌭

Meet the East Village Foot & Ankle Surgeons team at KRHC! 💚

✨Dr. Alexxis Cary
Dr. Cary is an Iowa native and board-certified foot and ankle surgeon. A former competitive gymnast, she was introduced to foot and ankle surgery after an injury, inspiring her career path. She earned degrees from Iowa State University and Des Moines University and completed her surgical residency in Kansas City. Dr. Cary specializes in bunions, hammertoes, flatfoot deformities, sports injuries, trauma, diabetic Charcot reconstruction, limb salvage, and wound care.

✨Dr. Curtis Marker
A Rockford, Iowa native, Dr. Marker is a board-qualified foot and ankle surgeon. He earned his degree from the University of Northern Iowa, attended Des Moines University, and completed his residency at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis. His expertise includes minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, sports injuries, trauma, fractures, ankle arthroscopy, tendon and ligament reconstruction, arthritis treatment, total ankle replacement, and pediatric foot and ankle conditions, including trauma, clubfoot and brachymetatarsia (short toe deformities).

✨Julie Stebbins, BSN, Wound and Ostomy Nurse (front row middle)
Julie has been part of the KRHC team since 2016 and serves as KRHC's Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Nurse and Wound and Ostomy Nurse. She works closely with Dr. Cary and Dr. Marker to provide specialized wound care, helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
