Here at Reading Write Alaska we know that a lot of our families come to us for our specialized services in Dyslexia.

October is Dyslexia Awareness and it is a special time to bring knowledge to those who may not know the differences, challenges and unique benefits living with dyslexia may bring. However we also want to stress that for us, Dyslexia Awareness is every month. We know, and see the struggle all year our students face, and want you to know we are here for you and our Alaskan Community ALWAYS!

We Won the Trunk competition!!! We also had a great competition with the police for ‘lights and sounds’ when it got dark.

A highlight of the night was seeing some of our friends from our RWA daycare stop through to see Toothless (and us of course). But the absolute best part was meeting new families and sharing about our NEW Physical Therapy services here in Anchorage and of course our Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy services too!

So grateful to be a part of this fabulous community! Thank you Texas Roadhouse for having us out!

Did you know that Dyslexia is a hereditary neurobiological difference!? 👨‍👩‍👧

Chances are if you have dyslexia at least one of your parents do, and about 40% of your siblings!

Dyslexia and other language/communication differences often have a wide variety of symptoms and severity. Someone may not know they have dyslexia but on average 20% of the population does! If you or someone you know have language and academic difficulties, maybe ask around the family tree 🌳
