Therapy Thursday with the Detroit Tigers!

Here are our tips for attending games during the summer months!

🎟️ For accessible seats in the shade, you’ll want to look for row 44AC when purchasing tickets. Seats 33AC will start in the sun but end up in the shade a couple of innings in for sections 117 & 118.

🅿️ If you don’t buy parking with your tickets, there are multiple phone applications that can be used to reserve parking spots ahead of time including ParkWhiz & SpotHero.

🚐 If you’re using medical transportation, we’ve found the easiest drop off spot to be on the corner of Witherall & Montcalm.

🎒Medical & diaper bags ARE allowed as well as one factory sealed water bottle per person - we like to freeze ours so they stay cold the whole game 🥶 We’ve also brought handheld fans with arms that can be attached to the railing in front of the accessible seats.

🦽Wheelchairs cannot be reserved in advance, they are on a first come first served base at the entrance gates.

🎆 Precaution that Friday night games do have fireworks following.

Therapy Thursday: Let’s talk FISHING 🎣

Recreational fishing provides extensive physical, psychological, and social advantages that directly improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Because it can be easily modified using adaptive equipment, fishing serves as a highly inclusive outdoor activity that focuses heavily on a participant's abilities rather than their limitations.

Here are some of our favorite accessible organizations/spots as well as resources to get started!

🏁 Therapy Thursday 🏁 Our HCRT team recently attended Disability Dirt Days alongside our clients. Disability Dirt Days creates a space where individuals with disabilities can enjoy the thrill of off-road motorsports in an inclusive & supportive environment. Thanks to Oakland County Parks, Wheels in Motion, Disability Network Eastern Michigan, Rehab Without Walls & other community partners our clients were able to reconnect with pre-MVA passions, build social skills in a natural, community setting, & experience the joy and confidence that comes from real life ✨COMMUNITY✨ What a day!!

📸 We had so much fun we forgot to take pictures this weekend so please enjoy the photos from past Disability Dirt Days events...this wasn't our first rodeo.
