Physician Spotlight: Louis E. Hempel, MD, FAAP

⭐ Dr. Louis Hempel joined Children's Medical Group in 1990 and practices at our Johns Creek location.
⭐ Dr. Hempel has spent his entire medical career with Children’s Medical Group, where he has served as both a partner and past president. For over 20 years, Dr. Hempel has helped teach medical students, pediatric nurse practitioner students, and physician assistant students.
⭐ Over the years, Dr. Hempel has developed a strong interest in mentoring high school and college students. To help them achieve their goals, he has authored a book, “Preparing for Success in College and Beyond: A Pediatrician’s Guide for Teens and Parents.”

Physician Spotlight: Norman Chip Harbaugh, MD, FAAP

At Children’s Medical Group, we’re proud of our physicians, which is why we want to take a moment and recognize each one—their unique quality of care and wonderful personalities!

⭐ Dr. Norman C. Harbaugh joined Children's Medical Group in 1989 and practices at our Johns Creek office.
⭐ Dr. Harbaugh founded the Board of Kids Health First Pediatric Alliance in 1996 and has served as a leader until recently. He served as CEO and Chairman of this metropolitan Atlanta Independent Physician Association (IPA), which is physician-owned and driven by 37 private pediatric practices and 210 pediatricians covering 750,000 patients.
⭐ He has served on six American Academy of Pediatrics Committees as well as on the CDC's Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee.
⭐ He and his wife, Dana, live in the Johns Creek area and enjoy spending time with their five children and two dogs.

June is National Migraine and Headache Awareness Month.

According to the Association of Migraine Disorders, migraines affect about 11% of children, and about 20% of kids with migraines will have their first attack before the age of 5.
