After 40 your hormones do not disappear. They recalibrate. And your body sends the memo to your heart, your brain, and your waistline all at once.

Estrogen dropping means LDL rising. Blood pressure creeping. Visceral fat forming around your organs. Anxiety showing up out of nowhere.

This is not aging. This is a system asking for different support.

Five foods that actually help right now:
fatty fish
flaxseed
leafy greens
berries
legumes

They target cholesterol, inflammation, blood pressure, and mood at the same time. No gimmicks.

Not sure where your risk level is? There is a free cardio-metabolic quiz linked in my bio. Take it. It is worth two minutes of your time.

Nobody told us 90% of our serotonin is made in our GUT and I am a little upset about it.

Your mood, your mental health, your heart health... all connected to what is happening in your digestive system.
Inflammation in the gut does not just stay in the gut. It travels. And it shows up as depression, brain fog, and heart disease.

This Women’s Mental Health Month we are talking about the root, not just the symptoms.

The third one might be the best one 🤣

I reviewed 3 days of a client’s food journal and what I found was silently working against her health. 👀

A “healthy” wrap with deli turkey? Over 1,400mg of sodium in one meal. Oatmeal with flavored almond milk and OJ? A blood sugar spike before 9am, which explained exactly why she was exhausted by 2pm and reaching for everything in sight.

Her diet wasn’t bad. It was just missing the right balance, enough protein, healthy fats, and way too much hidden sodium.

A few simple swaps, olive oil dressing, eggs at breakfast, canned salmon at lunch, and her next lab results told a completely different story. ✨

If you’ve been eating “”healthy”” but still dealing with fatigue, cravings, or stubborn blood pressure, your food journal might be telling on you too.

📖 My Setting Yourself Up for Success Lifestyle Guide teaches you exactly how to build a balanced plate and eat, move, and sleep your way to better health. No guesswork. No extremes. Just a clear, doable plan.

As an RD I am begging you to look at the rest of your plate 😅

Protein era this. Protein era that. Meanwhile fiber is sitting in the corner with zero followers and a declining gut microbiome to show for it.

Protein matters. And so does everything else you stopped eating to make room for another chicken breast.

Eating once a day on a GLP-1 is not discipline, it is working against the medication 🚨

GLP-1s reduce your appetite but your body still needs consistent fuel to protect muscle mass, keep your metabolism steady and make sure the weight you are losing is fat and not the tissue holding you together. Skipping meals might feel easy but the long term cost is not worth it. More food, better choices, that is the goal.

What I eat in a day as a dietitian focusing on anti-inflammatory meals with balance and no restrictions.
