One thing we’ve learned after years of supporting families is that there is still so much confusion around what resources are available during pregnancy and postpartum.

So here’s a reminder: many Michigan Medicaid plans cover doula services!

That means more families can have access to the support, encouragement, and education that doulas provide throughout pregnancy, birth, and the first year postpartum, often at no additional cost.

Every family deserves to feel supported and cared for as they enter parenthood. If you’re expecting and have Medicaid, we’d love to help you understand what support may be available to you. Send us a message to learn more about doula services and whether your plan is accepted.

Our support doesn't stop after pregnancy, birth, or postpartum. Motherhood is a journey that deserves support and community every step of the way.

We're so excited for our very first Mama Walk and can't wait to gather with you! Be sure to follow The Mama Lounge to stay up to date on this event and future opportunities to connect with more local moms.

We're excited to invite you to our very first Mama Walk!

Join us for a morning of fresh air, movement, and meaningful connection with other moms. Whether you come with a baby, toddler, or both, we'd love to have you.

After our walk, we'll gather in The Mama Lounge where you can enjoy light refreshments, use the restroom, let the little ones play, and spend a little extra time connecting with each other.

We're hoping this is the first of many, so come help us kick things off!

It's been a few months since our last childbirth education series, so we're thrilled to finally share that our next one is on the schedule!

As we planned this series, we wanted to make it even more comprehensive for growing families. Along with our childbirth education, breastfeeding, and postpartum class, we've added a Newborn Care class that's now included with your registration. As we introduce this new addition, we're excited to offer this expanded series at our current price. We hope this extra class gives you even more confidence as you get ready to welcome your little one.

We’re so excited to add these new books to our lending library!

We can’t wait to share them with families and use them as a starting point for conversations about postpartum meals, nourishment, and caring for yourself during those early days with a new baby. A little preparation before baby arrives can go a long way, and we love helping families think about what kind of support might feel good in those first weeks.

There's something about reaching the halfway point of the year that invites reflection. As we looked back on the past six months, we were reminded of just how many families have welcomed us into such meaningful moments of their lives.

19 births attended (13 boys and 6 girls!)
~70 postpartum visits
~40 prenatal visits
13 lactation consults
2 rounds of our Complete Birth Prep series
5 Postpartum Support group gatherings

We're so grateful for all we've shared so far this year, and we're looking forward to supporting many more families in the months ahead. Here's to the second half of the year!!

Can we let you in on something?

A lot of what we do will never make it to social media.

Some of the most meaningful moments happen in quiet birth spaces (hospital rooms + homes), middle-of-the-night texts and phone calls, postpartum visits, and many times in the privacy of a family's home. Those moments? They belong to the families we serve, not the algorithm.

And though you've been seeing our growth, support groups, classes, and continuing education, we've also been quietly doing what we love most: supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Which is at the heart of our work. AND, that will never change.

Happy Father’s Day! 💙

To the dads and dads-to-be we've had the privilege of supporting: we're so proud of the way you show up.

Time and time again, we've seen the difference your presence makes. A familiar touch, a comforting voice, and knowing you're there can bring so much strength and reassurance in the moments it’s needed most. Thank you for all the love, support, and steady presence you bring to your families!

We’re so grateful for the MDHHS Doula RISE program, which is making continuing education and professional development more accessible for doulas. Opportunities like this help us deepen our skills, expand our knowledge, and better support the families we serve every day.

We’re excited to keep learning this summer! Our team is continuing our education in:
• Birth doula support
• Perinatal loss and bereavement support
• VBAC support
• NICU navigation

We love having opportunities like this to learn, grow, and bring that knowledge back to the families we support.

Sometimes labor unfolds exactly the way you imagined. Other times, your path to meeting your baby includes either a planned or unexpected c section.

That's why we're so excited to continue expanding our ability to support clients in the OR. Our team has already been trained, approved and supporting families at Corewell Butterworth. This summer we'll be completing training with Sparrow Lansing, Trinity Health Grand Rapids, and Trinity Health Muskegon so we can continue being there for our clients when they need us most.

Because our commitment was never to a specific birth plan… it's to you! Helping you feel supported, informed, and cared for throughout your birth experience, no matter how your baby arrives. Continuous support doesn't end when the birth plan changes. You deserve to have your support team with you every step of the way.
