This Mental Health Monday, we wanted to cover the mental health benefits of pronoun respect🗣️

Pronouns are words which refer to a noun. Many English speakers use pronouns to refer to an individual instead of using their name. The most common pronouns are he/him/his and she/her/hers when referring to an individual, and they/them/theirs when referring to a group or nonbinary person.

The Trevor Project has reported on the mental health benefits and impacts relating to gender affirmation via pronoun respect. The non-profits’ research concluded that transgender and nonbinary individuals experience LESS anxiety and psychological distress when their pronouns are not respected. In turn, these individual reported greater well-being when their pronouns are respected.

This means that pronoun respect has the ability to benefit all individuals by affirming autonomy and reducing social assumptions.💜

June is Men's Health Month, and we're using this time to highlight the importance of mental wellbeing among men.💜

This campaign rightly focuses on physical wellness by promoting check-ups, exams, and exercise, but an emphasis on mental health for men is lacking. Men in the United States face troubling statistics when it comes to mental illness, depression, and su***de rates.

The struggle can be silent no longer.
Talking about men's mental health is a necessity. Speaking up and reaching out is not a sign of weakness.

As a community, we can break stigmas surrounding men's mental health in a few ways:
1. Starting a conversation about mental health.
2. Sharing resources that promote mental health support and arrives.
3. Creating safe spaces for men to be comfortable in their vulnerability.

This month, check-in with your friends, family, and neighbors to promote !

During Pride Month, and this Mental Health Monday, we want to recognize the diversity and intersectionality within the LGBTQ+ community!💜🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Understanding the importance of labels— both individual and collective-is essential to creating a respectful and inclusive society. The multitude of identities associated with the LGBTQ+ acronym serves can serve as a foundation for self-acceptance, exploration, and inclusion.

We will continue to hold conversations about the LGBTQ+ community and mental health throughout the month of June!✨

This Mental Health Monday, we want to recognize Pride as a time of celebration, joy, and strength. This we want to recognize our nation’s fallen heroes💜🇺🇸

Those who serve as veterans are more likely to suffer symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, according to the National Center for PTSD. Veterans are also susceptible to anxiety and depression.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we encourage everyone, our veterans included, to care for themselves.

Thank you to those brave individuals who fought for our country. those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
