In yoga philosophy, there is a concept called tapas. It is often translated as discipline, but I think a more human way to understand it is as the willingness to keep returning to what nourishes us.

Not through force or perfection. Through relationship.

Little by little, practice becomes less about motivation and more about staying connected to ourselves. And that influences the quality of our attention, our nervous system, our relationships, and the overall tone of how we move through the day.

This is part of what the Grounding Circle offers. A simple structure for returning again and again to what helps us feel more steady, clear, and resourced.

Staying connected to ourselves influences the quality of our attention, our nervous system, our relationships, and the overall tone of how we move through the day.

🙏

Our month-long Grounding Circle begins Monday, June 1. We meet live three mornings a week for short, simple grounding practices designed for real life.

Join live if you can, or practice later from the recording delivered directly to your inbox the same day.

Built-in accountability. Potent and accessible practices. Minimal excuses.

I’d love to have you with us.

“The feeling I experience is so deep and definitely has changed the way I go through my day.” -- Janet L.

There are times in my practice when people are working through similar things—grief, physical healing, big life transitions.

Right now, I’m seeing more and more women who are at the start of a new chapter.

They’re ready for something to shift, but finding themselves caught in familiar loops of self-doubt, overthinking, or indecision.

In response to this, I’ve been working in a slightly different way in my one-on-one sessions—and the results have been surprisingly immediate.

One woman came in caught in self-doubt and negative inner dialogue. The next day, she gave a public talk with a sense of ease she hadn’t felt in years.

Another was completely stuck in a major life transition. Within an hour, she made several clear decisions that had been weighing on her for weeks.

What I’ve found is that insight alone doesn’t always create change.

Often, clarity begins to emerge when we include the body—working with awareness, sensation, and a sense of internal steadiness.

Because this has been so effective, I’m opening a few Embodied Clarity Sessions in May.

These are focused, one-hour sessions to help you move through a specific place where you feel stuck.

Ever wish you could hit the pause button on your day?

I'd love to share my favorite pause practices to help you calm your nervous system, and come back to center in just a few minutes.

You can start right using them right away. No mat. No studio. No perfect quiet place. Just how you are.

Even after 30 years of practice I am pleasantly surprised every single time I do one of these things. Whether it's 5 breaths or 5 minutes, the choice to take time to reset is powerful and the results are immediate.

Let me know if the comments or dm and I'll send this resource your way. (Feel free to share!)

Arrived to NC just as the trees were pushing their new leaves out. 🌱

Butterflies, rainbows and waterfalls in every direction although I don’t have photos of those :) I actually left my phone at home on purpose most days so I could just soak it all in.

I’ve chased waterfalls all over the world and this is one of my favorites for many reasons!

If you ever get a chance, make your way here. These fall run big all year round due to some of the highest annual rainfall in the continental US!

If you’ve ever felt like you’re “bad at yoga,” this might be why.

Many people end up modifying so much that they start to question themselves.

In my experience, that’s often not a problem with the person, but with how the practice is being taught.

A well-designed practice meets you where you are and gives you room to build, rather than forcing you to take things away.

This way yoga becomes more supportive and more sustainable.

If this speaks to you, you’re invited to join me for a live class.

Online and on-demand options, personal consultations available.

Your yoga practice is not meant to look like anyone else else’s. Many people end up feeling like they have to modify so much that they start to question themselves. In my experience, that’s often not a problem with the person, but how the practice is being approached. A well designed practice meets you where you are and gives you room to build, rather than forcing you to take things away. This is where Yoga becomes more precise, more supportive, and more sustainable. If you’d like to experience this approach, you’re welcome to join me for online classes or reach out about private sessions.

To be radical is to go to the root.

When we live from inner ground, our presence shapes how we respond, how we lead, and how we care for what matters—without burning out or hardening.

This is the kind of radical available through grounding practices.
Quiet. Potent. Sustainable.
