Some of the most meaningful moments in nursing are the ones that remind us just how much a nurse can mean to a family. 💙

For Mackenna Lord, SCN RN, that moment came when a family returned to Beverly Hospital to reunite with her after nominating her for the October DAISY Award.

Mackenna cared for their son in the Special Care Nursery, offering the compassion, reassurance and thoughtful touches that made a difficult time more manageable. Watching her reconnect with the little boy she once cared for was a beautiful testament to the lasting bonds nurses build with their patients and families.

Congratulations, Mackenna, on this well-deserved honor! 🌼

💙 Join us in congratulating Beverly Hospital’s October DAISY Award winner, Mackenna Lord, SCN RN!

As a night nurse in the Special Care Nursery, Mackenna made a lasting impact on one family during an especially difficult time. From handwritten notes about their premature son’s progress to thoughtful crafts celebrating their family, Mackenna went above and beyond to help them feel connected, reassured and cared for.

One special keepsake, a craft of their son dressed in a UPS uniform to honor his father’s job, still hangs in their home today.

Congratulations, Mackenna, and thank you for the compassion, personal touches and exceptional care you bring to your patients and their families every day. 🌼

Congratulations to Kristen Grocki, RN, Beverly Hospital’s September 2026 DAISY Award winner!

Kristen’s compassionate care made a lasting impression on one of her patients, who nominated her after experiencing firsthand her kindness, empathy and thoughtful approach to care.
After the patient suffered a head injury, Kristen went above and beyond to help them feel comfortable before their move to rehabilitation. She even found a creative way to wash their hair without getting their hospital gown wet.

It’s one small example of the many ways Kristen makes thoughtful, compassionate care a natural part of every patient interaction.
