ECMC is home to 573 inpatient beds, on-and off-campus health centers, more than 30 outpatient specialty care services and Terrace View, long-term care.

The ECMC Corporation includes an advanced academic medical center (ECMC) with 602 inpatient beds, on- and off-campus health centers, more than 30 outpatient specialty care services and Terrace View, a 390-bed long-term care facility. ECMC is a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, a regional center for burn care, behavioral health services, transplantation, medical oncology and head & neck cancer care, rehabilitation and a major teaching facility for the University at Buffalo. Most ECMC physicians, dentists and pharmacists are dedicated faculty members of the university and/or members of a private practice plan. A new era of care has arrived at ECMC!

Over the weekend, ECMC officially transitioned to Epic, a state-of-the-art electronic health record system that will help our teams work together more seamlessly, improve access to patient information, and support more coordinated care.

Epic also includes MyChart, a secure patient portal that gives patients convenient access to their health information, test results, appointments, and communication with their care team.

This major milestone was made possible by the incredible hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our teams across ECMC. As we continue learning and adapting to the new system, our teams will keep building on this progress and finding ways to make the most of Epic to deliver the best possible care for our patients.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this transition happen and who continues to support our patients and one another through this exciting next chapter!
