What an incredible day at our Belong, Balance, Lead, and Flourish Nursing Leader Summit!

More than 300 nurse leaders came together recently to connect, reflect, and grow, thanks to the thoughtful leadership of Lorie Rhine and Carla Jones from System Nursing. With inspiring keynote presentations from John League, Tim Cunningham, and Dr. Nadia Charguia —and hands-on activities focused on nurse leader well-being—this summit created space to reflect, recharge, and lead with purpose.

The day was filled with inspiration and intentional reflection! So energized by the leaders who continue to shape strong, resilient teams across UNC Health.

NCONL serves as the voice for North Carolina leaders to promote unity and cohesiveness across our nursing profession through professional development, research, and health care policies.

More than 300 nurse leaders from across UNC Health came together for a powerful day focused on strategy, innovation, and the future of nursing leadership. Our first ever System Nursing Leader Symposium, led by Lorie Rhine and Carla Jones, featured an inspiring keynote from Jeff Doucette, Chief Nursing Officer at Press Ganey, who led the discussion on teammate engagement, safety culture, work life effectiveness, and resilience. Meaningful conversations continued with our System Nursing Strategic Plan, culture shifts, Laudio engagement, and immersive technology integration.
