A very special thank you to the Mountain City Corvette Association for coming out and putting on a Corvette parade for our residents.

This visit meant so much to all of us, but especially to one of our Trio residents who was once a member of the club. Seeing those Corvettes again brought back such special memories and made this moment one we won’t forget.

Thank you for taking the time to make him, and all of our residents, feel so loved and remembered.

We want to give a huge THANK YOU to Spanky’s Brass Band for coming out and sharing their incredible music with us! Our residents absolutely loved the performance! ❤️🎶

What made the day even more special was getting to watch one of our very own residents perform with the band! There’s something truly wonderful about seeing someone from our Rockbridge Oaks family share their talent and passion with all of us.

Thank you, Spanky’s Brass Band, for filling our community with music, smiles, and memories. We loved having you and hope to see you again!

Our Trio residents enjoyed a beautiful scenic drive through the National Cemetery today, where history, honor, and patriotism came to life. 🇺🇸❤️

Along the way, we talked about the traditions that make this sacred place so meaningful. Today, the American flag was flying at half-staff in honor of a service taking place, reminding us of the respect shown to those who have served our country.

We also discussed the story of Desmond Doss, the courageous World War II medic whose incredible true story inspired Hacksaw Ridge. Knowing he is laid to rest here made his story even more powerful.

One of our favorite discussions was about the coins sometimes left on veterans’ headstones. Each coin carries a special message:
🪙 A penny means someone visited.
🪙 A nickel means they trained together.
🪙 A dime means they served together.
🪙 A quarter means they were with that veteran when they passed.

As we drove through the peaceful grounds, many residents and staff shared stories of their own loved ones who are buried there. It was a touching time of remembrance as we reflected on family members, cherished memories, and the sacrifices made by generations before us.

We talked about the placing of flags on patriotic holidays, to decorate the cemetery at those times, lovingly placed by Boy Scouts and dedicated volunteers, and talked about the beautiful wreaths laid on each headstone during Christmas to ensure every hero is remembered.

It was more than just a scenic ride—it was a day of remembering, learning, sharing stories, honoring our own loved ones, and paying tribute to the brave men and women who made our freedoms possible. ❤️🤍💙

🍕 Lost Footage from Our Interactive Pizza Lunch! 🍕

Our directors, along with our wonderful volunteer Miss Brooklyn, helped make our Interactive Pizza Lunch a huge success! ❤️

On the last Friday of every month, our residents get to create their very own personal pizzas, choosing exactly what they love, from meat lovers to veggie loaded creations and everything in between! 🍕 Each pizza is then baked fresh and served just for them.

A huge shoutout to our amazing Culinary Team for preparing all the toppings, helping our residents create their perfect pizzas, and making this fun monthly tradition possible! 👏👨‍🍳

Great food, lots of smiles, and even better company! ❤️🍕

A heartfelt thank you to Pastor Scott Chastain for joining us and leading such a wonderful Wednesday night church service. Your message was uplifting, encouraging, and a true blessing to our residents and staff.

We are so grateful for your time, your heart, and your willingness to share God’s Word with us. Thank you for making our Wednesday evening so meaningful. We look forward to having you back next Wednesday, for any families that would like to come it starts at 6:00.

It was the first of what we hope will be many Rockbridge Oaks Date Nights! ❤️

Our evening started with a trip to see The Odyssey on the big screen, and it did not disappoint! After the movie, we headed to Outback Steakhouse, where everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner, great conversation, and plenty of laughs.

Creating opportunities like these gives our residents a chance to enjoy a special night out, make wonderful memories, and experience all our community has to offer beyond our doors.

We can’t wait to plan the next Rockbridge Oaks Date Night! 🍽️🎬❤️

What a week it’s been at Rockbridge Oaks… and it’s only Wednesday! 🎉

We’ve already shared so many laughs, smiles, outings, games, crafts, and special moments together. Seeing our residents, families, and staff making memories side by side is what makes our community so special. Every day brings something new, and the fun just keeps going!

If you haven’t joined us yet this week, there’s still plenty of time! Come sing your heart out at Wednesday Karaoke and relax with us at Wine Before Dine. Whether you’re cheering someone on, singing your favorite song, or simply enjoying great company, we’d love to see you there.

And the fun doesn’t stop there! Join us for Part 2 of the excitement at our End-of-the-Month Birthday Party this Friday at 3:00 PM as we celebrate all of our July birthdays with even more laughs, music, and great company!
