AIM Center, Inc.

AIM Center, Inc. We are non-medical and non-clinical, however, we work in concert with other professionals to provide comprehensive mental health services.

The AIM Center clubhouse provides psychosocial rehabilitation services to create hope, community and social change to enrich and celebrate the lives of people living with serious mental illness. AIM Center is a nonprofit mental health program offering employment, education, housing, socialization, and wellness opportunities for adults living with serious mental illness. Our focus is recovery! What

makes us unique to the region? Utilizing a psychosocial rehabilitation model known as the "Clubhouse program," the AIM Center allows Clubhouse members to develop relationships and create an individual recovery plan, whilst working side by side with other program participants and staff. Since 1989, we have helped over 3,000 adults in the Chattanooga community lead a full and meaningful life, while living with serious mental illness. Each day 75 to 100 participants, called Clubhouse members, come to the AIM Center to engage in recovery activities. By working together with staff and other members, individuals begin to feel needed and accepted, discover their strengths and abilities, and develop relationships based on mutual respect and shared contributions. AIM Center members have equal voices in all facets of the Clubhouse ‘s operations including planning leisure activities, hiring staff, making decisions about policies and procedures, and having input into the long-range planning of the Clubhouse. Services provided outside the Clubhouse model promote community integration, which includes transitional and supported employment, supported education, supported housing, and leisure activities. The program is open to persons with a diagnosed psychiatric disorder who are 18 years of age or older. Membership to AIM Center is without time limits, so individuals may return to AIM Center whenever they need or want additional support.

Aaron is hard at work updating our Clubhouse calendar for August!

With so much happening next month, he's making sure nothing gets left off the schedule. The Clubhouse calendar is an important part of daily life because it helps members stay connected and navigate each day at the Clubhouse. Since membership is completely voluntary, members choose how they want to participate, and the calendar gives them an easy way to see what's happening each day.

From weekly meetings and special projects to social activities and community events, the calendar keeps everyone informed, including all the details for our AIM Center Homecoming celebration this August that we're all so excited for!

There is something to be said about getting creative... 🎨

Our Wellness Unit recently got some new aprons, so they decided it was the perfect time to give the old ones a new life with a little tie-dye! The crew rolled up their sleeves, got to work, and had a lot of fun in the process.

Now we have even more aprons, and each one is as unique as the person who made it. That's one of the things we love most about Clubhouse. We look for ways to make everyday activities fun, engaging, and creative, even something as simple as the aprons we wear while preparing lunch together each day.

Now we're wondering... what else should we tie-dye around the Clubhouse? 👀

This Sunday, July 26, we recognize National Disability Independence Day, a day that commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990, a landmark moment in advancing accessibility, inclusion, and civil rights.

When many people think of disability, they picture something physical or visible. But not all disabilities can be seen. Serious mental illness and other invisible disabilities can impact daily life and are also recognized under the ADA.

At AIM Center, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live, work, and thrive in their community, regardless of how their disability presents. National Disability Independence Day is a reminder of the progress we've made, while also inspiring us to continue building a more inclusive community where everyone has the support and opportunities they need to succeed. 🧡

We had such a wonderful time at the ADA Celebration at Coolidge Park, hosted by the Mayor’s Council on Disability!

The event brought together organizations and community resources from across the region to celebrate the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We're grateful to have been part of such a meaningful day dedicated to inclusion, accessibility, and connecting people with valuable resources. 🧡

We are so grateful to incredible partners like United Way of Greater Chattanooga who invest in the work we are doing.

Thanks to their support, we're able to help adults living with mental illness, including ALICE families, find hope, purpose, and opportunities for lasting recovery through our Clubhouse community & resources. 🧡

Some of the best solutions for our community haven't been tried yet. 🚀

That's why the Catalyst Fund exists: to accelerate promising, innovative strategies for ALICE households – those that are working hard but still struggle to make ends meet.

The Catalyst Fund is just one piece of our broader community investments process, which invests $3.3 million across 52 local organizations.
