June 2 is Lou Gehrig Day ⚾️

Major League Baseball designated June 2 as Lou Gehrig Day to honor the Hall of Famer on the date that represents both the start of his record setting 2,130 consecutive games streak (June 2, 1925) and the day he passed away from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) (June 2, 1941).

Celebrated annually since 2021, the day helps raise awareness and support efforts to fight ALS.

This past Saturday, our therapists Lindsay and Jenny attended the 4th Annual Cardio for Cosmo 5K/1 Mile Walk in honor of Det. Steven Cosmo. Thank you to the Burlington Township Police Department for hosting such a meaningful event focused on honoring Det. Cosmo’s legacy while supporting mental health education, su***de prevention, and scholarships for future law enforcement, military, and mental health professionals 💙

SPT was proud to help participants get race-ready with a dynamic warm-up and education on common running injuries. We loved being part of such a strong community event for an even stronger cause 🤝

Walking your dog seems simple... until they suddenly pull toward a squirrel 🐿️

Dog walks actually challenge your balance a lot more than we think - turning your head, stepping over uneven sidewalks, reacting quickly, and staying steady while moving.

A few exercises we like for working on dynamic balance:
👉🏼 Walking with diagonal head turns
👉🏼 Single leg balance with cone taps
👉🏼 Head turns on uneven surface

The goal isn’t perfect balance, it’s helping your body feel more confident and adaptable during everyday movement.
