Do you, your kiddo, or your friends experience symptoms of OCD and identify as Black or African American?  

I am part of a national research study hosted by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai School in New York City, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This study is to advance treatment in the Black community.

Previous research on the OCD diagnosis is primarily based on white community members. I can imagine most of us know and understand that this is simply not acceptable. Your participation will help us learn more about the biological aspects of OCD, it can help us to develop better, more supportive and more effective treatments.

If you, or someone you know may qualify, please share this information or reach out to me directly for more information. Participants that do qualify will be paid for their participation.

As we begin to wrap up pride month, EMC wants to remind all of the allies out there that pride isn’t about supporting and celebrating the community only during the month of June. It’s actively choosing to show up, create brave spaces, comfort, support, stand up, speak up, and give to a community that has had freedom and liberties stripped from them for just existing. Love is pure, raw emotion; whether that’s love for others or love for ourselves. We should honor that, every day! And until we can all live authentically, EMC will continue to fight for all rights of the LBGTQIA+ community. Why? Because we were born this way! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷 🌈
