When a baby is diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD), families often face overwhelming uncertainty, stress and unexpected challenges from the very beginning.

That's why we are proud to help lead the BOND Trial, a major multicenter clinical study designed to improve parent well-being, strengthen parent-infant bonding and support infant development during the first year of life. The study will evaluate new approaches to mental health support and breastfeeding guidance for families navigating a CHD diagnosis.

By focusing on the needs of both babies and caregivers, the BOND Trial aims to help families do more than survive a heart diagnosis—it aims to help them thrive. ❤️

More than 140 middle and high school students got a special behind-the-scenes look at science in action at Cincinnati Children's Discovery Day.

Students toured labs, met real researchers and doctors, and tried hands-on activities to see how discoveries are helping improve kids’ health every day.

Thank you to the students who brought their curiosity and excitement!

An important step forward in global health: Researchers at Cincinnati Children's demonstrated 89% protection for a Shigella vaccine in a clinical trial, bringing us closer to prevention.

Shigella is a serious infection that affects tens of millions of people worldwide each year, especially children, and causes hundreds of thousands of deaths. After more than 100 years of research, there is still no approved Shigella vaccine—making these findings especially meaningful.

Read more about the findings on our Research Horizons blog: https://scienceblog.cincinnatichildrens.org/clinical-trial-of-shigella-vaccine-shows-89-protection/
