The Dog Days of Summer Are Almost Here! 🐶

Join us at The Coventry on Thursday, August 6 for a tail-wagging day of fun celebrating our four-legged friends!

The festivities include:
🐾 10:30 a.m. – Puppies in the Pub with adorable pups from Petland
🌭 11:00 a.m. – Hot Dog Lunch Buffet
🦴 1:00 p.m. – Bake homemade dog treats to share with our visiting pets
🎉 2:00–4:00 p.m. – Dog Party on the Patio featuring a costume contest, pooch parade, and more
🎬 6:30 p.m. – Abby's List, a heartfelt "dogumentary" following one man's cross-country journey with his beloved 14-year-old dog

Well-behaved dogs and other pets are welcome to join the festivities (except during the lunch buffet). For the safety of our residents, all visiting pets must register with the Concierge and provide current vaccination records.

Whether you're bringing your furry friend or simply coming to enjoy the fun, it's sure to be a paw-some day. We hope to see you there! 🐕

🌞We love celebrating the incredible team that makes The Coventry such a special place!

This week, we hosted a Staff Appreciation Picnic to recognize our hardworking team members with an afternoon full of food, fun, and friendly competition. Everyone enjoyed a delicious cookout, tested their skills in a life-sized game of Candyland, cheered each other on during a Fruit by the Foot eating contest, and shared plenty of laughs along the way.

To top it all off, team members used their Coventry Bucks—earned for going above and beyond—to bid on exciting prizes during a special auction.

It was a beautiful afternoon and a small way to say thank you for the compassion, dedication, and enthusiasm our team brings to our residents every single day. We truly appreciate all that you do!

🀄 Mahjong is taking The Coventry by storm!

Just a few weeks after offering Mahjong lessons, our group has grown to more than 20 residents who are excited to learn, play, and enjoy this game together. It's been wonderful to see the excitement, and a little friendly competition, develop around the game table!

Beyond being a lot of fun, Mahjong is a great way to keep the mind active by encouraging memory, strategy, and problem-solving. It also provides wonderful opportunities for social connection and spending quality time with friends.

We're thrilled to see so many residents embracing this new favorite pastime.

A big thank you to Amy Pollner from MARY KAY Cosmetics for visiting The Coventry and treating our residents to a fun and relaxing day of beauty and self-care. Everyone enjoyed being pampered and trying new products.

Of course, no special event is complete without delicious snacks, which made the afternoon even sweeter!

👩‍🍳🍽️ In honor of National Culinary Arts Month, we're excited to introduce one of the talented people behind the delicious meals at The Coventry—our Culinary Director, Sarah H.!

Sarah has spent more than 20 years in the culinary industry, beginning her career as a line cook and working her way up through dedication, creativity, and a passion for great food. Her first chef position was at the Black Creek Bistro in Olde Towne East, and she's continued to build an impressive culinary career ever since.

Food has also played a special role in her personal life. Sarah met her husband while they were both working at Tip Top Kitchen & Cocktails, and they've been sharing the "chef life" together ever since.

When she's not in the kitchen, Sarah enjoys spending time at her home in the Granville/Newark area with her husband and their two cats, Arthur Weasley and Harley Quinn. She recently discovered a love for gardening and proudly admits she's well on her way to becoming a "crazy plant lady!" The couple also enjoys relaxing on their screened-in patio and exploring local antique malls in search of their next unique treasure.

Originally from St. Louis, Sarah moved to Ohio in 1999 and has proudly called it home ever since.

We're grateful for Sarah's talent, creativity, and dedication to making every dining experience at The Coventry something our residents can look forward to. Thank you, Sarah, for all you do!

Our residents were treated to an unforgettable performance by illusionist Josh Farley, whose incredible magic left everyone amazed, smiling, and wondering, "How did he do that?"

From mind-bending illusions to plenty of smiles and laughter, Josh brought excitement and joy to every moment of the show. Programs like this spark conversation, encourage social connection, and remind us that you're never too old to experience a little wonder.

The Coventry's Independence Day Cook-In was a celebration to remember! 🇺🇸❤️

While the summer heat had us move the festivities indoors, it didn't put a damper on the fun. Residents, families, and team members gathered together to enjoy a delicious cook-in, wonderful company, and live music from the talented Chaz Mechenbier.

Seeing so many loved ones join us made the day even more special. Celebrations like these remind us that the best memories are made by spending time together, sharing laughter, and celebrating the community we've built.

We hope everyone had a safe, happy, and patriotic Independence Day! ❤️🤍💙
