Thrilled beyond words to announce yesterday morning I rolled into my exam and had the whole thing done in under an hour🫰.

As my community knows, this has been a several year process of intensive studying, travel for school, and putting everything else aside to go into deep learning. I’m honored to do it. Despite how hard it was, anything that requires depth and sacrifice can become transformational, and it was full of good times too.✨

I love practicing medicine with my whole heart and being a board certified herbalist will allow me to practice the full scope of TCM.

THANK YOU to all my people who have been checking on me, dropping off food, taking care of my garden and cat, and supporting me in the countless ways one needs when under pressure.

Homesteading on a small scale (city urban yards) or large scale (acres in the countryside) is a never ending opportunity to hone skills for living in tune with nature, no matter what the circumstances. Caring for plants, nonhuman animals, and each other…and doing it well, takes a level of presence and tenacity that satisfies the soul.

When observing life through the lens of the 5 elements, we can see that if there is a dominating factor, all other balance gets thrown off.

There are cycles that generate more harmony and create more life and health. Then there are cycles that assault that harmony and create more dysfunction and disease. The more we can move WITH the seasons of the year, and the seasons of life, the generally more simple (and hopefully easeful!) life will be.

Springtime is a time of birthing. New life pushes through the darkness to try the first wobbly steps. It’s the yang energy coming forth from the yin of winter. But it’s still a kid. Young energy. Unsteady on its legs. Lil bit goofy and bursting with promise. It’s the energy of going up, down, around obstacles. Taking the first steps. Go🌱

New framing. How about looking at our patterns of outcome with neutrality rather than labeling “good” or “bad”. Life changes, seasons change, habits change. We get outcomes from patterns.

That’s what acupuncture is about. Looking deeply into patterns showing up in the mind/body/spirit and placing needles to work with the innate intelligence of your system to create change.
