LOSS Community Services LOSS exists to be an instillation of hope to those bereaved by suicide. https://linktr.ee/losscs The trauma associated with a suicide loss is significant.

LOSS Community Services (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) - consists of trained volunteers who go to the scene of a suicide to provide resources, support and hope. LOSS also provides resources and companionship to the bereaved in the months and years to come. By providing support, resources, and hope LOSS survivors learn they are not alone and there is help. Visit 61 took Hope to Ohio State University for a meeting of Project Sunshine, a service-based organization whose volunteers create and deliver free, in-hospital programs for pediatric patients and their families.

Responding to a su***de once is heavy. Responding to it again and again, over the course of a career, carries a different kind of weight.

Dispatchers, EMS crews, police officers, and firefighters often encounter su***de loss repeatedly as part of the job. That exposure adds up, even when it doesn't look like it from the outside.

Hope stopped by Donatos Pizza HQ for The Big Table — a community-wide day of conversation encouraged by the Columbus Foundation.

Before employees sat down with their pizzas, JoJo spoke about the work LOSS does in the community and the ongoing partnership with Donatos — now 10 years strong. For a decade, Donatos has helped LOSS provide meals to families free of charge after a su***de loss.

It might look like just pizza and salad. But a meal means compassion, and one less thing to worry about on a day that's already turned someone's life upside down.

Visit 59 brought Hope to Studio23 Tattoos. Misty Temple has been an incredible partner in supporting su***de loss survivors through her annual tattoo fundraiser benefiting LOSS Community Services.

Misty's work goes beyond raising funds — every year, she opens her chair and her platform to help spread the word about postvention support and the resources available to survivors. Her beautiful artistry gives clients a meaningful way to honor someone they've lost, while her advocacy ensures that conversations about su***de loss and support reach people who might not otherwise hear them.

Partnerships like this show how Hope can show up in unexpected places — even in a tattoo studio — and how community members like Misty help carry that message further than we could alone.

Hope felt right at home at this year's The Ohio State University Su***de Prevention Conference, themed "Healing Together: Postvention Strategies for Health Care, Education, and the Workplace" — a natural fit for LOSS Community Services' mission and the We Are the 135 campaign.

The conference brought together professionals across health care, education, and workplace settings to explore how postvention support can be woven into the systems where survivors already live, work, and heal. It was a proud moment to meet Dr. Julie Cerel, whose research on su***de loss exposure underpins the "135" statistic at the heart of our campaign — putting a face to the data that has shaped so much of our outreach.

Conversations like these reaffirm that postvention isn't just an add-on to su***de prevention — it's an essential part of how communities heal together.

Visit 57 took Hope to the Columbus State Community College Know Your Numbers Health and Wellness Fair, part of the college's Wellbeing 360 series for employees.

Hope set up alongside biometric screenings, chair massage, and pulse readings, sharing space with a fair built around physical health to make room for a conversation about grief and postvention too.

When someone experiences a su***de loss, sometimes the smallest acts of care can remind them that they don’t have to walk through the next days and weeks completely alone.

At LOSS Community Services, we provide care packages to survivors as one small way of saying, we see you, and we’re here.

You can help us keep these care packages stocked by purchasing an item from our Amazon Care Package Wish List and having it sent directly to LOSS:
