Hope shows up in unexpected places. 💛🐉
In mid-May, she showed up at two more—visits 11 and 12 on her journey to 135.
COTA — Central Ohio Transit Authority — hosts its annual employee mental health fair at two locations so every employee has the opportunity to participate. LOSS was honored to be at both stops, with our volunteer Jude at the table and Hope riding along in her dragon wagon.
Su***de loss moves through entire communities—workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and faith spaces. The 135 people impacted by every su***de death don't grieve in isolation. They grieve alongside one another, often without even realizing it. That's what We Are the 135 is all about: recognizing community grief and reminding people they don't have to carry it alone.
A fun bonus: the fair's organizer is also named Hope, so there was double the Hope at both locations! ✨
We're still working on getting Hope the Dragon onto an actual COTA bus—stay tuned. 🚌
Want Hope to visit your workplace, organization, school, or community event? We'd love to bring Hope's message of connection and support to your space. Fill out this form : https://secure.losscs.org/forms/invite-hope-to-visit
The 135 are everywhere. So is Hope.

For every su***de loss, an estimated 135 people are impacted.
This June, as we celebrate Pride Month, we're honoring the friends and chosen family.
Chosen family is often more than friendship—it’s safety, belonging, acceptance, and love. These relationships show up in life's biggest moments, and they show up in loss, too.
Su***de loss reaches far beyond immediate family. It touches best friends, partners, roommates, mentors, teammates, and the people who became home.
You are part of the 135. Your grief matters. Your love matters. And you deserve support.

Together, families, friends, and community members came together to honor loved ones lost to su***de, share stories, and witness butterflies released as symbols of transformation and continued bonds of love.
This year’s Butterfly Release was held at Blendon Woods. We are deeply grateful to Friends of Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks for helping make this gathering possible in such a beautiful natural space.
Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and held space for one another—we are honored to walk alongside you in remembrance and healing.

Hope’s 7th visit brought them to an “Understanding Your Su***de Grief” support group facilitator training hosted with OSPF and Postvention Consulting 💛🐉
This visit was all about learning, compassion, and strengthening the ways we support su***de loss survivors in our communities. Hope got to sit alongside facilitators and advocates dedicated to creating safer spaces for healing and connection.
Every stop on Hope’s journey is a reminder that hope grows through community, conversation, and showing up for one another ✨
