Some reminders don’t come from books or advice… they come from the body itself.

These are 6 truths I keep returning to in somatic therapy, and every time I do, they feel a little more real, a little more grounding, and a lot more freeing.

Your body is not working against you. It’s always trying to help you survive, soften, and find your way back home.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, tired, anxious, or stuck, this is your gentle reminder: nothing in you is random. Your body is speaking. The question is, are you listening?

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering what your nervous system already knows how to do.

And yes… even rest counts as progress. (Your nervous system just said “finally.”)

Some days ask more of us than we feel we have to give.

There are moments when the weight of the world, old wounds, uncertainty, or simply the demands of daily life can make it hard to believe you'll find your way through. In those moments, healing isn't about having all the answers. It's about remembering that your nervous system has carried you through every challenge you've faced so far.

Trust doesn't always arrive as confidence. Sometimes it looks like taking the next breath. Getting out of bed. Reaching out for support. Choosing to stay present when everything inside you wants to run.

The difficult days do not define you. They are part of your story, not the whole story.

May you remember that resilience isn't about pushing harder—it's about staying connected to yourself with compassion, even when things feel uncertain.

This is one of the most powerful shifts that somatic therapy invites us to make.

When we're overwhelmed, anxious, triggered, or hurting, it's natural for the mind to try to make sense of what's happening. We replay conversations, revisit old wounds, imagine worst-case scenarios, and search for answers in endless loops of thinking.

But often, the body is asking for something different.

It is asking to be felt.

The tightness in your chest.
The knot in your stomach.
The heaviness in your shoulders.
The exhaustion that rest alone doesn't seem to fix.

These sensations are not problems to solve. They are messages to listen to.

Healing doesn't happen by ignoring our thoughts, but by learning that the story in our minds is only one part of the experience. When we begin paying attention to what is happening in the body, we create opportunities for deeper healing, regulation, and self-understanding.

Last week’s workshops created space for reflection, honesty, vulnerability, and healing.

And this week, many people may still be processing everything their mind and body experienced.

That’s normal.

Healing isn’t always loud or dramatic. Sometimes it looks like:
• resting more
• noticing your triggers differently
• feeling emotions you used to suppress
• setting boundaries
• finally realizing your body has been carrying too much for too long

Integration matters.

Please be gentle with yourself this week. Your nervous system deserves compassion, too.

So many people wait until they’re completely exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected, or barely functioning before they finally reach out for help.

But healing was never meant to begin only in crisis.

Your body deserves care before burnout.
Before shutdown.
Before everything feels unbearable.

You are allowed to seek support simply because something inside you knows: “This isn’t sustainable anymore.”
