You know what's SCARY? A woman who trusts herself, knows her worth & isn't afraid to walk away, shift + evolve.

Historically, this is not everyone's favorite development. 🌿

But might be one of the most disruptive things a woman can do. 😉

A woman who feels safe within herself is a different kind of woman. 🪷

She's less likely to silence her voice to keep the peace - to second-guess her intuition to make someone else comfortable - to stay in relationships that require her to continually negotiate her worth, minimize her needs or abandon pieces of herself to belong.

She's not as easily manipulated by guilt, obligation or the fear of disappointing people.

She becomes more discerning about who gets access to her energy, her time & her inner world. Some people will find themselves in her inner circle. Others may find themselves comfortably relocated to the outer edges.

(Some may even discover their invitation has expired. ✌️ )

Not because she's become cold, selfish or difficult. Because she's become securely connected to herself.

Something I've been observing in my work with women lately is that the most meaningful shifts often happen beyond the conversation about simply "what's wrong."

We can understand our patterns, unpack our histories & intellectually recognize what's no longer working. But understanding something doesn't necessarily mean we feel safe enough to do something different.

Sometimes the deeper work is helping women develop an internal experience of safety, connection & self-trust.

When that happens, they begin making choices from intuition rather than fear. They find their unique voice. They tolerate the discomfort of disappointing others. They become less afraid of leaving what isn't healthy because they have a place within themselves to land.

This is the power of brain-based therapy. It's not simply about changing what you think. It's about changing what you experience within yourself.

You literally create a new memory + felt sense of what it feels like to attach to yourself securely. One that you can return to when things hijack you.

When a woman no longer has to abandon herself to maintain connection with someone else, just about everything changes.

A woman who trusts herself is a woman who is much harder to convince to live a life that doesn't belong to her. Maybe mankind's biggest threat.

🪞 ✨ Inspired by many; defined by no one but yourself.

Something I’ve been thinking about as a small business owner:

Building a brand takes SO MUCH more than a beautiful website, thoughtful language, or a carefully curated photo.

It takes years of reflection, experimentation, lived experience & the courage to put something genuinely your own into the world.

I’m certainly a big believer in collaboration, mutual support + celebrating other women doing meaningful work. There is room for all of us......

But I also believe there is a difference between being inspired by someone’s work and adopting the very language, ideas, & presentation they’ve worked hard to develop.

Originality matters. Integrity matters. And so does respecting the work behind someone else’s voice.

It's crucial to use your voice when putting your work into the world. (Not mine. I've owned that for 53 years. Ask my mama. 😌)

Have courage to create from your own truth. Let's create from a place of authenticity, rather than comparison. ✨

✨✨Q1–Q3 REVIEW: WHAT HAVE YOU NAILED IN 2026?

🍁 We’re in October. 🍂

Three quarters of the year are behind us & before we start making plans for 2027….pause.

Not to focus on what you haven’t done.

But to recognize what you HAVE.

Yes queens 👸🏻 I see YOU.

The boundaries you finally held.

The conversation you stopped avoiding.

The risk you took.

The relationship you invested in——-or finally released. ✌🏻

The way you showed up for yourself when life got messy.

The version of you that emerged from something you weren’t sure you could navigate.

Maybe you didn’t hit every goal you set in January.

Maybe your priorities changed.

Maybe some of your biggest wins won’t show up on a vision board or a spreadsheet. (But maybe they will - never underestimate the power of a vision board. I’ve got stories.)

But growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s the things you NO LONGER TOLERATE—the choices you make differently & the hard won peace you protect. (And please protect it. This time in history begs us to do so.)

So, before you write off the year as unfinished, take a moment to celebrate what you’ve already nailed.

And then ask yourself:

✨ What am I most proud of from the first three quarters of 2026?

✨ What is one thing I still want to experience, change, or accomplish before December 31?

✨ What would it look like to finish this year feeling more like myself—not just more productive?

You still have a quarter of the year left.

You don’t need to reinvent yourself. You get to build on the woman you’ve already become.

Your turn: What have you NAILED in 2026 + what’s one thing you’re claiming before the year ends? 👇

A musing on Artificial Intimacy: Optics, Aesthetics vs Genuine Connection 🎭 → 🤍

Are we living our lives or just making them look good? Personally, I love a beautiful home. A great outfit. A dinner party with linen napkins & really good olive oil. I am not suggesting we take away anyone’s aesthetic.

But I’ve been thinking about how much energy we’re putting into the optics of our lives in midlife. In fact, I just finished an article to be published next month that hits on this very thing.

We’ve become very good at looking like women who have it all together. BUT, are we actually feeling connected to the lives we’re so busy curating? (I'm hearing alot of NO's to this question lately.)

For sure, our kids are growing up. Our bodies are changing. Our identities are shifting. The old markers of success may not feel quite as satisfying as they once did.

And suddenly, we’re asking (or ignoring) big questions about who we are + whether the life we’ve built still feels like us.

It’s tempting to answer those questions with a little reinvention. A new look. A new space. A new version of ourselves for the world to see. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm here for all of that, but a new aesthetic is a lot easier to manage than an uncomfortable conversation or taking time for introspection.

(I'm finding this time in life almost demands a life review. 🌀)

We can spend an entire evening together + know more about the new hip - fill in the blank - but absolutely nothing about what makes YOU or the person across from you feel alive.

We can be surrounded by people & still feel surprisingly unseen.

And we can look like we’re living our best lives while missing the very things that make life feel good.

Looking interesting & being interested are two very different things. Being admired isn't the same as being known.

A beautiful thing about getting older might be caring a little less about how our lives look to other people & a whole lot more about how they FEEL to us.

So by all means, buy the dress. Set the table. Book the trip. Just remember to look up from the beautiful life long enough to actually live it. Sit at a table with phones away & be curious about the one standing next to you.

Maybe ask someone a question you genuinely want to know the answer to.

You might be surprised by what happens next. ❤️ (Practicing this may include a little less posing + a little more living 📸 🌿.)

✨ Evolution + Possibility 🦋

What is the purpose of my social media pages?

This is one of the questions posed to me in a MasterMind group with Danielle Rizzo.

🌱 My answer: It's to create connection + recognition; to have women see something I post and think, “That’s me. She gets it.”

🦋 My brand, Own Your Evolution, is modern, holistic psychotherapy for women who are evolving into the next version of themselves. I talk about psychology, relationships, nervous system regulation, identity, midlife, self-trust & the patterns that keep us stuck; but I want it to feel bigger than traditional mental health content. I want it to feel downright hopeful. That there are modalities of treatment that work very effectively in moving women out of old stuck spaces.

🌿 My people are primarily thoughtful, intentional, highly sensitive women in their late 20's through 60s who are high-functioning (usually over burdened) & have spent a lot of their lives taking care of everyone else.

🌙 They may be successful on the outside but are asking deeper questions about who they are & what they want N O W.

🫶🏻They aren't necessarily looking to be “fixed.” (Thank Goddess.)They're looking for a deeper understanding of themselves & someone to guide them through change. Someone who believes in them & is cheering for them even when they are not in the room.

🌷 The purpose is ultimately to help women feel seen, understood & inspired to own their next evolution.

🪷 I'm a bit unconventional, esoteric, irreverent, real + honest about the intricacies of being a woman on this planet.

🌸 It’s the best gig in the world.

Friendship Boundaries ✨ 🪞 👑

How do I handle a friendship where it’s hard to tell if there is admiration, insecurity or a lack of a strong sense of self?

🙋🏼‍♀️ Answers with questions:

Do you feel appreciated or studied?

When you share something exciting about yourself, does she celebrate you or does it turn into something she needs to possess too?

Does she show up cloaked in things that are unique to you?

There can be both admiration but also an underlying sense of threat in some friendships. It can feel icky & like there is no easy answer to preserving the relationship.

I have found it helps to be more selective about what you share; not as punishment but as a personal boundary.

You can shift the level of intimacy; which can be highly effective in keeping the relationship, as you can love someone without giving them unlimited access to your identity.

You’re not gatekeeping necessarily; you’re just handing over the blueprint. 💅🏼

(Gorgeous Boundaries book written + illustrated by Sarah Seidelmann. It's gotten alot of "likes" in my waiting area.)

🪴 Therapy That Works: 2026 Edition🪴

🌿 Honoring the architecture of each persons nervous system in real time; inviting what wants to come up & out.

This goes way beyond the OG ways of CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) I learned in the 90’s; which was helpful but sometimes incomplete.

Now we ask:

What feels stuck?
What wants to move?
What urges never got started or completed?
What wants to happen right now?

🌳 This creates fluidity/movement to get below content of the issue …..where internal resolution can take place.

🫶🏻Therapy in the modern world isn’t about overpowering your system. It’s about respecting its intelligence, understanding its architecture & helping it remember how to feel safe again.

💚 That’s how we do therapy on my literal & metaphorical couch.

There is a reason that healing is revolutionary - and a big part of the resistance in this time in history:

Culture teaches us to doubt ourselves. To silence our intuition. To tolerate the intolerable. To make ourselves smaller in order to stay safe (so boring.) To believe someone else's version of reality over our own.

As old wounds heal, something remarkable happens:

EMDR (eye movement desensitization + reprocessing) & other deep trauma therapies unravel those survival strategies.

I witnessed this unfold in real time yesterday while moving someone through an old, untrue self concept:

✨ Women start trusting themselves again.
✨ They become less susceptible to gaslighting.
✨ Their boundaries strengthen.
✨ They stop apologizing for taking up space.
✨ They ask harder questions.
✨ They recognize manipulation more quickly.
✨ They become less willing to trade authenticity for approval.

That kind of healing doesn't just change relationships; it changes families, workplaces, communities + culture.

Systems that rely on fear, shame, control, or unquestioned authority don't benefit when people reconnect with their own inner wisdom.

🌱 Healthy relationships do. 🪴

EMDR & other brain based therapies isn't about teaching people what to think; it's about helping them think, feel, & choose from an embodied, regulated nervous system instead of from fear.

When a woman no longer needs permission to trust herself, her world changes. Drastically.

I'm here for it.

👁️ ✨ What I wish people knew about BrainSpotting:

🔑 The key idea: “where you look affects how you feel.”

🕊️ After one session, you can feel neutral about a person or situation that hijacked you for years. I just had someone gobsmacked by how non-activated they were in the face of someone who dysregulated them for decades.

🪴 The nitty gritty: BSP allows processing without overwhelm.

How? The eyes are neurologically wired into the brain’s survival system. In brainspotting, we use eye positions to access & process trauma + it gets to places that talk therapy alone cannot reach.

It’s not the eyes doing the healing, it’s the brain, but the eyes help us find the doorway.

We find the spot. Stay with it & your beautiful brain finally processes it instead of reliving it.

No forcing, over-talking. Just your brain doing what it’s designed to do once it feels safe enough.
