We recently lost her during the extreme heat, and she’ll be deeply missed around the farm.

One of the things I appreciate about sharing this space with animals is that it allows us to experience the full range of life together—including grief. While loss is never easy, it also creates opportunities for children to ask questions, express big emotions, remember someone they loved, and learn that grief is something we can move through rather than avoid.

Star’s little life mattered, and we’re grateful she was part of our farm. 🤍

It helps them care for their feathers, stay comfortable, and regulate their bodies. A good reminder that self-care doesn’t always look neat or polished—it just needs to meet our needs.
