We are excited to announce the recipient of the APTA-ND 2026 Outstanding Service Award is Nichole Sommers! Nicki has served as the chair of the APTA-ND continuing education committee for the last 12 years. During her tenure leading the committee she has brought 2-3 high quality evidence-based courses every year to PTs/PTAs and other healthcare providers in the region.

Nicki has devoted countless hours to the organization all while working as a physical therapist at Sanford Power in Bismarck and being a busy wife and mother. We recognize her tireless efforts for the APTA-ND organization and for the education of the physical therapists in our region for over a decade. Congrats Nicki!

Last chance to register! We would love to see you in Bismarck this weekend!

This course will meet the ‘board approved imaging training program’ requirements for ND and will allow you to order imaging!

The course will include interactive case studies, group discussions, and hands-on practice in completing referrals, building relationships with imaging centers, and management of unexpected findings.

You'll gain a deep understanding of the similarities and differences between advanced imaging studies (MRI, CT, ultrasound, enhanced x-rays), decision-making guidelines, and the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria. You'll also review when imaging is not recommended to help avoid overuse.
