HMHS SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTATIONS
On Monday evening, June 1, the Haddonfield Ambulance Association (HAA) presented three scholarships to Haddonfield Memorial High School Seniors who are planning healthcare related education and/or careers.
These scholarships have been awarded to deserving HMHS graduates for many years, by the HAA. These awards are funded by the generous donations to the HAA by members of the Haddonfield community.
The scholarship awards were presented by HAA Board of Trustees member Gil Cosnett, 2nd Vice Chairman.

National EMS Week 2026 is observed from May 17 to May 23, 2026. The 52nd annual week-long campaign is celebrated under the theme "Improving Outcomes, Together," which highlights how emergency medical personnel collaborate with 911 dispatchers, public health officials, and law enforcement to save lives.

Let this be a reminder to us, of the wonderful EMT staff of the Haddonfield Ambulance, who provide this lifesaving service on behalf of the Borough of Haddonfield.

Congratulations to Christina Sperandio, one of our fine Haddonfield Ambulance - Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) who is proudly graduating from Rowan University tomorrow with a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies.

For our "old vehicle buffs" and/or "vintage TV buffs".....did you know that the famous 1970s (1972-1977) NBC-TV show "EMERGENCY" portrayed an ambulance which was more or less a clone of our 1974 FORD-MODULANCE - which we purchased for $18,000.

Johnny Gage and Roy DeSoto rode in that "Mayfair" ambulance many times - transporting patients to "Rampart General Hospital". Don't tell anyone, but our Haddonfield Ambulance Association EMTs (and drivers), back in the day, were proud and somewhat thrilled to be working in the same brand and model ambulance that their TV "heros" worked in.

Guys.....do you remember?: Kevin MacDonald, Willard Schaub, John Gargano, Dave Griffeth, Gil Cosnett, Harvey Shaw, George Cox, Scott Dodelin, Ray Abrams, Howard Frazier and our late members, (RIP): Jim Makin, Frank Stewart, Bill Perkins, Henry Bowman, Ron Richardson, Carl Abrams, Herb Jordan, Harold Dorn.

The Haddonfield Ambulance Association (HAA) is proud and honored to have Haddonfield Fire Chief Patrick Gorman (Haddon Fire Company No. 1) as our newest member of our Board of Trustees. He will serve as Director of Operations.

Chief Gorman brings his vast knowledge and experience to our organization. He has many years of experience not only with the fire service, but with EMS as well - with the operation and management of both types of organizations.

The HAA looks forward to having Chief Gorman as part of our 87 year-old organization.

The HADDONFIELD AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION is very grateful to those who have donated to our organization in 2025!!

WE WISH YOU ALL A SAFE, HEALTHY AND HAPPY 2026!!

We are particularly thankful for the donations that we continue to receive, which has enabled us to purchase every ambulance which has served Haddonfield for 87 years (since 1938), and also which enable us to purchase life-saving equipment for the ambulances.

We look forward to continuing our wonderful partnership with Haddon Fire Company No. 1 and the Haddonfield Police Department.

…..and of course, we view the residents of HADDONFIELD as our PARTNERS as well.

Borough Receives New Safety Equipment from Haddonfield Ambulance Association
For Immediate Release---September 15, 2025

The Haddonfield Ambulance Association has purchased and outfitted the Borough’s two ambulances with new Stryker cots and hydraulic loading platforms—an equipment upgrade totaling nearly $90,000. These advanced stretchers improve patient transport and significantly reduce the risk of injury to emergency medical personnel.

The hydraulically powered cots allow EMTs to lift and load patients with the push of a button, eliminating the need for manual lifting and easing the physical demands of emergency response.

“The Borough is deeply grateful for the Haddonfield Ambulance Association’s continued dedication to our community,” said Director of Public Safety Frank Troy. “Their commitment—alongside the generosity of residents who support these efforts year after year—makes it possible to equip our EMTs with the tools they need to serve safely and effectively.”
