A big thank you to Brownie Troop 1261 for brightening the day at the Sentara RMH Hahn Cancer Center recently with their generous cookie donation! 👏✨

This amazing group of third-grade Girl Scouts from the Elkton/McGaheysville area chose to give back to cancer patients and care teams—many inspired by their families’ experiences. 💕

Their kindness and commitment to helping others truly reflect the Girl Scout values of being considerate and caring. We’re so grateful for their thoughtful gesture (and the delicious treats! 😄🍪).

💚 May is Celiac Awareness Month 💚

Celiac disease is more than a food allergy—it’s a serious autoimmune condition where eating gluten causes the body to attack the small intestine, making it hard to absorb important nutrients.

⚠️ Know the facts:
• It’s genetic and often runs in families
• It can develop at any age
• Common signs include fatigue, anemia, and bone loss
• There’s no cure—only a strict, lifelong gluten-free diet

🥖 Even tiny amounts of gluten can cause harm—many describe it like glitter… it spreads easily and is hard to avoid! That’s why careful label reading and preventing cross-contact is so important.

👩‍⚕️ With the right diagnosis, support, and guidance (including working with a dietitian), people with celiac disease can live healthy, full lives.

💡 Let’s raise awareness, support those affected, and help make gluten-free living safer for everyone! Learn more here:
