The final part. ❤️ The feet you saw before I left are now carrying people forward in Sri Lanka. Thank you to Limb Kind Foundation and everyone who helped make this trip happen. Moments like these are why I do this work.

Part 3: going back to the traditional way. 🤲 Instead of the direct socket method I usually use, I cast each patient’s residual limb by hand, built the mold from that cast, and shaped it until it was right. Everything that follows is built on this step, so it has to be precise. It’s slower, but it’s hands-on work I’ll always value.

Part 2: there’s no fully equipped lab out here, just the tools we brought and a team ready to work. 🔧 I shaped, fitted, and fabricated each device on site so every foot could be matched to the person who would wear it.

Today, I’m walking through what I do as a prosthetist and orthotist during a patient visit, making adjustments, checking fit, and making sure everything is functioning exactly how it should.
Our job goes beyond just building devices. We’re here to problem-solve, improve comfort, and help our patients move through life with confidence. Every appointment is another step toward better mobility and independence.
