Want to get more out of your hormone visit? Come prepared with three things:

1๏ธโƒฃ A simple timeline of what has changedโ€”and when you first noticed it.

2๏ธโƒฃ A current list of medications and supplements.

3๏ธโƒฃ Your goals and questions. What do you most want to understand or improve?

You do NOT need to arrive knowing what hormone is โ€œwrongโ€ or what treatment you need.

Thatโ€™s what the conversation is for.

The more clearly we understand your experience, the better we can evaluate the full picture and talk through your options.

Save this before your next appointment. ๐ŸŒฟ

Save this checklistโ€”and send us your hormone questions for a future Ask Jill video.

Hormone therapy is not a โ€œmore is betterโ€ conversation.

Hormones affect multiple systems throughout the body, which is why treatment decisions should be thoughtful, individualized and monitored over time.

The goal isnโ€™t to chase the highest possible lab value or copy someone elseโ€™s dose.

Itโ€™s to find an approach that makes sense for your symptoms, health history, goals and individual risk profileโ€”and then reassess as your needs change.

That may not sound flashy, but itโ€™s what responsible hormone care looks like.

Personalized. Monitored. Rooted in the individual. ๐ŸŒฟ

Save this if youโ€™re researching hormone therapy, and bring your questions to a qualified healthcare provider.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Oral estradiol reduces the risk of heart disease by >50% and all cause mortality by 38%.

ZERO studies so Bioidentical hormones cause cancer. ZERO.

Hormone optimization isnโ€™t about hot flashes, itโ€™s about disease prevention!

โ€œThe Finnish Registry Study, a very large population study showing that long-term use of HRT reduced the risk of death from CVD by 54% and all-cause mortality by 38%. We have the EPAT and ELITE studies, two smaller RCTs that were designed to test an underlying mechanism, but were not large enough or long enough to be powered to detect CVD events or all-cause mortality. Both studies showed a decrease in the progression of atherosclerosis relative to placebo, providing a very plausible mechanism for why HRT decreases CVD. And we have a large, 10-year RCT, the DOPS trial, which showed a greater than 50% reduction in the composite endpoint of death, myocardial infarction, and heart failure.โ€

Maybe you have a friend who keeps saying she doesnโ€™t feel like herself.

Maybe someone you love has questions about perimenopause, hormones, sleep, energy or a different approach to primary care.

You donโ€™t need to diagnose them.

You donโ€™t need to tell them what treatment they need.

Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is share a trusted resource and say, โ€œThis made me think of you.โ€

Thatโ€™s exactly why we create so much education here.

If a Rooted post has helped you understand your health a little better, feel free to pass it along. ๐Ÿ’š

Lab work can be incredibly usefulโ€”but a single number rarely tells the entire story by itself.

Different hormone concerns require different kinds of evaluation. Your symptoms, health history, medications, stage of life and the reason a test was ordered all matter when results are interpreted.

For example, the menopause transition is often recognized through age, menstrual changes and symptomsโ€”not by relying on one hormone level alone.

The goal isnโ€™t to chase a โ€œperfectโ€ number.

The goal is to understand what the information means in the context of YOU.

Thatโ€™s one of the reasons we talk so much about personalized care at Rooted. ๐ŸŒฟ

Save this post, and bring your questionsโ€”not just your lab numbersโ€”to your next visit.

There isnโ€™t a checklist online that can tell you whether hormone therapy is right for you.

That decision is personal.

It can include your symptoms, age and stage of life, medical history, personal risk factors, goals and preferences.

For some people, hormone therapy may be a helpful option. For others, it may not be the best fitโ€”or there may be other things we need to evaluate first.

Thatโ€™s why Jillโ€™s first goal isnโ€™t to โ€œput everyone on hormones.โ€

Itโ€™s to understand what youโ€™re experiencing and help you make an informed decision about your care.

World Menopause Day is October 18, and weโ€™re using the moment to say something we believe all year long:

Menopause deserves better conversations.

For some women, the transition includes hot flashes and night sweats. For others, the changes may show up through disrupted sleep, vaginal or urinary symptoms, mood changes, or difficulty concentrating. Some women have few symptoms at all.

There is no single menopause experienceโ€”and there shouldnโ€™t be a single approach to care.

Education matters because it gives you language for what youโ€™re experiencing and helps you walk into healthcare conversations with better questions.

If something has changed and youโ€™re wondering whether menopause could be part of the picture, you deserve a conversation that looks at YOU. ๐ŸŒฟ

Share this with a woman who deserves better menopause information.

So many people find Rooted because a friend, family member or coworker told them, โ€œYou should talk to Jill.โ€

We donโ€™t take that trust lightly.

If someone in your life has been looking for more personalized primary care, has questions about hormones, or simply wants a healthcare experience where they feel heard, weโ€™d be honored for you to introduce them to Rooted.

Sometimes the most helpful referral isnโ€™t telling someone what treatment they need.

Itโ€™s simply pointing them toward a place where they can ask questions and be taken seriously.

Thank you for continuing to share Rooted with the people you care about. ๐ŸŒฟ

Hormone therapy can sound like one treatmentโ€”but there are different hormones, doses, delivery methods and reasons someone may consider therapy.

Thatโ€™s why two people with similar symptoms may not leave with the same plan.

At Rooted, we look at the bigger picture: your symptoms, medical history, stage of life, goals, relevant testing and individual risk factors.

BHRT education shouldnโ€™t be about convincing everyone to choose the same treatment.

It should help you understand the conversation well enough to make an informed decision with your healthcare provider. ๐ŸŒฟ

Personalized care isnโ€™t an extra. Itโ€™s the point.

Have a BHRT question you want us to cover next? Leave it in the comments.

Hot flashes get a lot of attentionโ€”but they are not the only reason people start asking questions about menopause and hormone therapy.

The menopause transition can also include night sweats and disrupted sleep, vaginal or urinary changes, and changes in bone health. Every personโ€™s experience is different, which is exactly why hormone therapy should never be treated as one-size-fits-all.

For some patients, hormone therapy may be an option. For others, a different approach may make more sense.

At Rooted, the conversation starts with your symptoms, health history, goals and individual risk factorsโ€”not a blanket recommendation.

The more you understand your options, the better questions you can ask. ๐Ÿ’š

Save this for your next healthcare conversationโ€”or send it to someone who has questions about menopause.
