What a special day it was. 💚⛳

The Larry Roberts Golf for Recovery Tournament brought together an incredible community of people, all united by a shared commitment to supporting recovery and changing lives.

Each year, we are honored to carry forward the legacies of Larry Roberts, Colonel Donald L. Schindel, and Dr. DeWayne Randolph. Their compassion, leadership, and commitment to serving others continue to inspire the work we do every day at Journey House.

To our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and everyone who gave their time, talents, and support—thank you. This event would not have been possible without each and every one of you. Your generosity and dedication help make recovery more accessible for individuals and families throughout our community.

We're already looking forward to next year! Mark your calendars for the 2027 Larry Roberts Golf for Recovery Tournament on Friday, June 11, 2027, at Brookwoods Golf Club. We hope you'll join us for another unforgettable day of golf, community, and support for recovery!

Every number tells a journey of hope.

During the first half of 2026, Journey House Recovery Center has continued to expand access to compassionate recovery care and support throughout our community.

Here's what we've accomplished together:

• 180 individuals served
• 171 new participants welcomed into our recovery support system of care
• 32 individuals transitioned into safe, structured recovery housing
• 92% of participants supported had involvement with the criminal justice system
• 90% were navigating both substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
• 7 Families participating in the Hope at Home program for parents in recovery

Behind every statistic is someone rebuilding relationships, finding stability, restoring dignity, and creating a future filled with hope.

At Journey House Recovery Center, we believe recovery doesn't end with treatment. Through our integrated network of outpatient treatment, recovery housing, peer support, and community resources, we're helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive in lasting recovery.

Thank you to our participants, staff, volunteers, referral partners, and supporters for making this impact possible. Together, we're creating pathways to lasting recovery and stronger communities.

For too long, we've treated addiction recovery as if it ended when someone completed treatment.

The reality is that treatment is only the beginning.

Lasting recovery happens when people have access to a complete continuum of care that includes evidence-based treatment, recovery housing, peer support, meaningful employment, transportation, life skills, and a recovery community that continues to walk alongside them.

At Journey House Recovery Center, we've built our entire model around this belief. Recovery isn't a 30-day event. It's a lifelong journey, and no one should have to navigate it alone.

In my latest article, I share why I believe the future of addiction recovery depends on organizations working together to provide continuous support that helps people move beyond surviving to truly thriving.

I invite you to read the article and join the conversation about what lasting recovery should look like.

A huge thank you to Lifepoint Church RVA for helping stock our food pantry! 💚

Their generosity helps ensure that individuals and families in recovery have access to food and everyday essentials when they need them most.

Our food pantry serves our community year-round, and the need is ongoing. If you'd like to make a difference, we're always accepting donations of nonperishable food, hygiene products, and household essentials.

Stop by the Journey House Recovery Center during business hours, and someone from our team will be there to greet you at the door and gladly accept your donation.

Meet Kate! 👋

We're so excited to welcome Kate Pomeroy as our Social Media and Marketing Intern this summer!

Kate brings a strong background in marketing, social media management, videography, and photography from her work with both school and church organizations. At school, she helps manage social media for elective programs, creating videos, capturing photos, and celebrating student achievements. She also serves on her church's production team, specializing in videography and photography for services and special events.

This summer, Kate is helping to bring our monthly newsletters to life and support outreach for recovery resources and community events. She's excited to help Journey House Foundation share our mission with even more of our community, and we're excited to have her on the team!
