A major milestone is taking shape at The Queen's Medical Center - West Oʻahu. 🏗️

The final construction beam has been placed for the Emergency Department expansion, which will more than double the department's size and help meet the growing health care needs of Central and West Oʻahu. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2028.

Celebrating the incredible people who make Queen’s special! 👏

Congratulations to Shane Morita, MD, MBA, PhD, FACS, FSSO, for being named one of five Healthcare Heroes statewide by the Healthcare Association of Hawaii! Nominated by his patient, Caroline Huff, Dr. Morita was recognized for the compassion, expertise and unwavering support he provided throughout her cancer journey.

We're also recognizing Matthew Koenig, MD, FNCS, who received the Peer-Nominated Advocacy Award for his leadership in expanding access to stroke care across Hawaiʻi, and Jenna Savusa, RN, who received a scholarship to pursue her master's degree in nursing.

These honors reflect the dedication of our caregivers and the meaningful difference they make in the lives of our patients and communities. We're so proud to have all three as part of our Queen’s ʻohana! 🎉
