Straub Health comprises Straub Benioff Medical Center and Straub Clinics, which include a 159-bed medical center in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawaii. More than 500 employed and contracted physicians who are leaders in their fields provide patients with expert diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different

medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, women’s health, vascular and urology. Although Tropical Storm Lala has moved past Hawaiʻi, some communities continue to experience power outages and are recovering from the storm's impacts. Hawaii Pacific Health remains committed to supporting the safety and well-being of our patients, employees, and communities.

All Hawaiʻi Pacific Health medical centers, urgent care locations, and clinics are open and providing care, with the exception of:

Straub Benioff Medical Center – Kāneʻohe Clinic, which is currently closed due to a power outage.

Patients with scheduled appointments at the Straub Benioff Kāneʻohe Clinic are being contacted directly to arrange a telehealth visit or reschedule their appointment.

🚧 Traffic Advisory Near Straub Benioff Medical Center

Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, utility work supporting the new parking building at Straub Benioff Medical Center will affect vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic along South King Street between Kealamakai Street and King Manor.

Work is expected to last approximately five weeks and be completed in late September. Activities will take place Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Please expect:
• Temporary sidewalk closures along the mauka side of South King Street within the work area.
• Bike lane closures during work hours and pedestrian/bicycle detours.
• Traffic controllers on-site to assist pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists.
• Three vehicle lanes on South King Street will remain open.
• Ongoing traffic controls on Kealamakai Street, with vehicle access maintained in both directions via a contraflow lane.

If you're visiting Straub Benioff Medical Center, please allow extra travel time and follow posted signs and directions from traffic controllers. Access to the medical center and nearby driveways will remain open during construction.

Straub Benioff Medical Center's Burn Care Unit recently brought together first responders and healthcare professionals for Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) training, helping strengthen Hawai‘i's readiness to care for patients with serious burn injuries.

From hands-on learning to real-world collaboration, the training equips participants with the skills needed to assess, stabilize, and coordinate care during the critical first hours after a burn injury.

As Hawai‘i's only provider of ABLS training, Straub Benioff continues to expand access to this lifesaving education, building stronger partnerships and improving care for communities across the islands.

🚧 Traffic Advisory Near Straub Benioff Medical Center

Beginning Monday, July 27, utility work supporting the new parking building at Straub Benioff Medical Center will affect traffic and pedestrian access near the intersection of South King Street and Kealamakai Street. Construction is expected to continue for approximately one month, Monday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Please expect:

• Temporary closures affecting a portion of a traffic lane and adjacent bike lane on South King Street near the work area.
• Pedestrian detours in select areas.
• Traffic controllers on-site to assist with vehicle flow.
• Vehicle access between South King Street and Kealamakai Street maintained in both directions via a contraflow lane.

If you're visiting Straub Benioff Medical Center, please allow extra travel time and follow posted signs and directions from traffic controllers. Access to the medical center will remain open during construction.

🚑🔥 Strengthening burn care preparedness across Hawai‘i.

Nearly 20 first responders from Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, American Medical Response, Honolulu Fire Department, Federal Fire Department, and other agencies recently completed Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) training at Straub Benioff Medical Center, earning their ABLS certification.

As the only provider of ABLS training in Hawai‘i, Straub Benioff's Burn Care Unit equips healthcare professionals and first responders with the skills needed to assess, stabilize, and treat burn patients during the critical first 24 to 48 hours after injury.

The training also provided an opportunity for first responders and healthcare teams to strengthen relationships and coordination, helping ensure patients receive timely, lifesaving burn care when every second counts.
