There is something especially personal about giving pottery as a gift.
No two pieces are exactly alike. They have the marks of the person who made them, and eventually they become part of the everyday life of the person who receives them.
A soup cup might become the one they reach for on a cold Sunday afternoon.
A mug becomes the favorite one for morning coffee.
A bowl gets pulled out every time they make that particular recipe.
That's what I love about pottery as a gift.
It's beautiful, but it's also meant to be held, filled, used and enjoyed.
And when you choose a piece because the color, shape or pattern reminds you of someone, it becomes more than another thing to unwrap.
It says, I saw this and thought of you.
Those are usually the best gifts. 🤎
