Michael Lynn Riddell, 74, of Estill County, departed this earthly life and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Michael passed away at Baptist Health Lexington following a long illness.

Born on March 3, 1952, in Estill County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Leonard and Verna Adams Riddell. Michael was a retired construction worker and a faithful member of Substation Holiness Church. He found great joy in singing and playing his guitar, sharing his love of music with family, friends, and his church community.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory one son, Jamie Lynn Riddell (Kim); two daughters, Diana Ruth Jones (Dillard) and Christina Belle Tipton (David); five granddaughters, Timirla Lee Ann Jones, Veronica Kealy Tipton, Mckenzie Sky Riddell, Candix Kaye Johnson, and LaDonna Racheal Daniels; one grandson, Clyde Douglas Daniels; three great-grandsons, Jace Alexander Thacker, Mason Lynn Johnson, and Kaleb Douglas Hardy; six great-granddaughters, Alexis Dawn Thacker, Madeline Jade Thacker, Hannah Marie Johnson, Kaylee Jo Johnson, Cayliah Sky Johnson, and Paisley Grace Hunt; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by six sisters, Judy Faye Riddell, Sue Farthing, Lucy Clowers, Wanda Riddell, Barbara Johnson, and Gene Hardy; and four brothers, Earnest Riddell, Paul Riddell, Bill Riddell, and Tommy Dewight Riddell.

Michael was a beloved soul who touched many lives throughout his journey. His kindness, faith, and love for his family will forever be remembered. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine, with burial to follow in the Jamie Cemetery in Estill County. Pallbearers will be selected at time.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine.

Robert L. Fisher, 66, of Wi******er, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born on December 17, 1959, in Wi******er, Kentucky, Robert was the son of the late Prater Fisher and Phyllis Fisher. A skilled and dedicated HVAC professional, Robert was self-employed for many years and took great pride in serving his community. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others whenever needed.

He leaves behind his loving sister, Dianne Fisher of Mount Sterling; two brothers, Russell Fisher of Mount Sterling and William Fisher; several cousins; and many friends who will cherish his memory.

In accordance with Robert's wishes, there will be no services held at this time.

Judy Ann Sheeks, age 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at her home in Irvine, Kentucky. Born in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Jack Cockrell and the late Louis Cockrell.

Judy was a hardworking, compassionate, and selfless woman who dedicated her life to caring for others. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Judy cherished every moment spent with those she loved and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and devotion. She was a faithful member of Panola Baptist Church and found great comfort in her faith throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Sheeks Sr.; her daughter, Mellissa Puckett; her son, Donald Sheeks Jr.; her brother, Glenn Cockrell; and her sister, Pam Goosey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three brothers, Jack Cockrell, Daniel Cockrell, and Charles Cockrell; four sisters, Beulah Moore, Betty Anderson, Karen Gibbs, and Rosemary Woolery; and her three beloved grandchildren, Makayla Sheeks (Chris Edmonson), Madison Puckett Perez-Calderas, and Malachi Begley.

Judy was also blessed with three treasured great-grandchildren, Jackson Edmonson, Elijah Edmonson, and Leo Perez-Calderas, who brought immense joy and happiness to her life. She loved spending time with her family, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

Though she will be deeply missed, Judy's love, kindness, and enduring faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of compassion, generosity, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Neal, will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Irvine Cemetery.

Lois Hobbs, 62, of Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Lois was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dear sister whose kindness and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Mellissa Jean Hobbs.

She is survived by her beloved husband, James Hobbs; her daughter, Angie Hobbs of Ravenna; and her son, Herbie Hobbs of Ravenna. She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Additional survivors include two sisters, three brothers, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will deeply miss her presence and the love she shared with those around her.

Her memory will be treasured by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 2, 2026 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Lewis Funeral Home. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Jim Hall will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2026 at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Hobbs cemetery.

Born on April 10, 1958, in Estill County, Kentucky, Ova was the son of the late Ova L. Abney Sr. and Alma Tharp Abney.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory two stepsons, Coty Abney and Justin Thacker; and one beloved grandchild, Chloe Abney.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Aaron L. Abney.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cobb Hill Cemetery.

Steven Carl Johnson, 62, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Born on August 14, 1963, in Wi******er, Kentucky, Steven was the son of the late Lewis Carl “LC” Johnson and Carol Sue Rose Johnson.

Steven leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Heather (Sammy) Little, Kasey Johnson, and Chasity (Shawn) McCarty; his sister, Michele (Allen) Bradford; his nieces, Aleisa (Brian) Combs and Katrina (Scott) Bowman; along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.

In his professional life, Steven was highly respected for his work as an IT specialist, a career that led him to Georgia, where he lived for over a decade.

Outside of work, Steven was a man of many passions and talents. He was an avid music lover whose appreciation for all kinds of music reflected his vibrant personality. He enjoyed the freedom of riding his motorcycle and had a true builder’s spirit, finding joy in construction work and creating things with his hands. Most recently, he discovered a passion for painting pinstripes on cars and helmets, always eager to learn something new and express his creativity.

Steven will be remembered most for the love he had for his family, his unforgettable sense of humor, and the countless “Dad jokes” that brought laughter to those around him. The memories he created with family and friends will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service to honor Steven’s life will be held at a later date.

Chaela’s greatest joy in life was being a mother. She leaves behind her three cherished children, Kinley Henderson, Taylor Dunn, and Skyler Dunn, who were truly the center of her world. She is also survived by her loving mother, Jennifer Everman Haddix (Tommy); her father, Eric Everman; her grandmother, Owenice Darlene Staton; and her grandfather, Danny Elkins, Sr.
In addition to her parents, Chaela will be deeply missed by her sister, Dannah Fraley; two brothers, Brandon Everman (Jerrica); and Jackson Everman, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were blessed by her love and presence.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Melissa Haddix; her beloved grandparents, Dixie and J.C. Everman; and her paternal great-grandmother, Golden Everman.

Michael Anthony Gagaris, 68, passed away after a brief hospital stay in Hazard, KY.
Mike was born on July 23, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio to Peter G. Gagaris and Lemie Jewell
(Townsend) Gagaris. He graduated from Northmont High School, Clayton, Ohio in 1975.
In his younger years, Mike liked to play Little League Baseball and P*e Wee Football
that resulted his nickname “Chunk” for his play as strong defensive noseguard. Later
Mike also used this trait in a few rodeos as a bull rider and although he rarely made it to
the time limit, he always seemed to have fun. He said that he met a lot of good people
in the little rodeos he would attend.

Mike really liked to be outside in nature and always thought of himself as a “mountain
man” from his many visits to family throughout Central Kentucky and eventual relocation
to the “old home place” in Estill County, KY. He enjoyed working with animals, farming,
fishing, hunting, trapping, and camping with a robust fire.

Mike is survived by his brother, Dan Gagaris with his wife, Terrie, and their children
Drew and Sarah, and his sister, Anna Gagaris, with her children Matthew, Walter, and
Rebekah, and his other nephew, Delmar.
Besides his beloved Grandparents, Parents, and Stepfather John Fish, Mike was
predeceased by his sister, Elisabeth Rose (Gagaris) Hiles and her husband, Albert
Hiles.

A graveside service will be held at the Cobhill Cemetery, Cobhill, KY on April 20, 2026
at 2 PM.

Emma Jean Oney, 81, of Irvine, Kentucky, wife of Jack Oney, passed away on April 11, 2026, in Middletown, Ohio.
She was born on August 4, 1944, in Stanton, Kentucky, to the late Allie and Dellie Shuler. Emma was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She cherished her family deeply and found her greatest joy in the time she spent surrounded by those she loved. Emma was always smiling, bringing warmth and light to everyone she met. She was also a wonderful cook, known for preparing meals that brought family and friends together around the table. Above all, her life was a beautiful reflection of love especially the enduring love she shared with her husband, Jack.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Angel (Tony) Mustard and Kim (Clint) White; one son, Jay (Kristine) Oney; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Walter (Jackie) Shuler, Dellie Jr. Shuler, Charlie (Amy) Shuler, and Sammy Shuler; one sister, Demmie (Tim) Meyers; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Dunaway; and two brothers, Donald Dell Shuler and Sydney Shuler.

Albert Ray Mays, age 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2026, at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington Kentucky. He was born on August 3, 1959 to the late Dewey Sr. and Shirley Mays.

Albert is survived by his loving wife, Betty Mays; five children, Stephanie (Joey) Chadwell of Booneville, Larry Mays (Emily) of Richmond, Candace Collins of Lee County, Brandon (Christian) Mays of Richmond, and Tanner Mays of Lee County. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Dewey jr. (Carla) Mays and Delbert (Edith) Mays, both of Lee County.
